1. Victim’s Advocates are responsible for providing support with respect to emotional or mental, educating victims about their rights, helping them find necessary resources, and helping them fill out paper work related to crime victimization. In addition to writing reports, this position has a range of records and files related to assigned cases that need to be maintained. The capacity to use independent judgement, discretion, and initiative is necessary for this role in order to guarantee that clients and the general public receive the right services.
2. Advocates for victims often accompany them throughout the criminal justice process, along with their families. In order to obtain assistance or information for the victims, advocates collaborate with other institutions such as criminal justice or social care organisations.
3. In addition to listening skills, victim advocates need to have empathy and compassion for the persons they interact with. Other advantageous skills include the ability to advocate for others, provide therapy, recognise problems, and be open to participating in collaborative problem-solving.
