Strengths and weaknesses look at the business’s current situation, while opportunities and threats will help the business project challenges and possibilities in the future. Therefore, SWOT is valid in strategic planning to assist a business to capitalize on its strengths, acknowledge weaknesses, see opportunities, and recognize threats.


In strategic planning, the strengths section enables the business to consider its competitive advantage in the marketplace. According toGurl(2017), the advantages are necessary to ensure the business operates and plans its strategies according to the available market. For instance, if the business deals with producing items, strengths related to production will assist the business in promoting itself as a high-quality producer.


Nonetheless, when a business sees its advantages, it can assess its weaknesses to make them simpler to understand. According to Omer (2018), the weaknesses allow the business to improve its service and realize if the weaknesses are part of the overall approach. Thus, the weaknesses enable the business to downplay its challenges in marketing its service and brand.


Subsequently, through SWOT, the business will see various opportunities vital in developing the business strategies that are important in identifying ways to grow and improve services. Through this process, the business will constantly review the available market opportunities and take advantage of marketing strategies that match the business's strengths.

When thinking about SWOT analysis We are thinking about the decision making of a organization. When starting this type of analysis, the easiest way to go about it is to take a piece of paper and draw a cross in the middle of the papermaking 4 squares. In those squares you will write out each topic. Strength, Weakness, Opportunities and Threats. Then you start listing everything down analyzing the organization. Typically, this possess does take a little bit of time considering that you want to make sure that nothing gets missed.


Starting with strength the organization wants to consider the things that they do good at and makes them stand out. Weakness is going to be the things that need help or things that slow a company down or make them less appealing to other organizations. next you have opportunity . They always say when one door closes another one opens. This is positive change to encourage positive growth within the Lastly, the threats that jeopardize these things. And what we can do to get rid it.


Overall, in my opinion, SWOT analysis is one of the easier approaches and I really do like it a lot. It simple and yet you cover literally everything that is needed to make positive changes and get rid of the some things that simply aren't working.

Good evening, Indeed, a SWOT should be a large part of the strategic planning process, but many leaders are not utilizing this tool for various reasons.This is unfortunate for those organizations where leaders do not conduct a SWOT.What we have come to realize is a SWOT can help leaders see the opportunities that could lead to a better and more efficient organization. An opportunity can turn into acompetitive advantage.


Strengths are the aspects that are considered to be necessary for the successful operations of the organization. These include resources and skills that can be used to gain a competitive advantage in the market. Strengths can best describe what the organization excels at and what separates it from the competition, like a loyal customer base and a service to patients that made a difference. In fact, one of the health care organizations where I previously worked created a loyal customer base. How did they do it?


The organization created a competitive advantage with a simple phone call within a week of a patient’s discharge to acquire about the patient’s recovery. It was a simple gesture but highly effective; display, compassion of care and it certainly strengthen its patient base. Have you observed where your organization created a competitive advantage that made a difference?
