The the Discussion/ Question that we are going over is

  • Considering legislation and quality improvement measures, what challenges do you see on the horizon for strategic planning, and how would you meet them as a manager?

The number one thing that I feel we have to remember is that quality and legislation are always changing. No matter what in this field we are required to change with them. Which means that the processes in with things are going to be done are also going to be changing. According to, "Several studies targeted this issue by hiring additional staff, such as a research coordinator, or delegating parts of the intervention to the research team. However, this was dependent on research team capacity and funds; sustainability of these strategies after the research team left was not addressed." So in retro spec I believe that communication is key. Its very interesting that more people actually dont even consider this into strategic planning.

Not having the proper communication in any business is a bad practice. As a manager my biggest approach to everything is going to be team building and proper communication. It makes everything that we work on run much smoother. Even in the small clinic that I am in now. My manager that I work in currently doesn't communicate with the staff. Its interesting because I get to see the repercussions of what that does to your staff. Apparently, she has known for sometime that we are moving the clinic, which is huge because it will open up opportunities. However, they just moved the clinic a year ago, and my manager didn't want to say anything because she didn't want to upset anyone. Now, this is not something that gets to me, I pretty much just stick to myself when they start talking. But they are all very frustrated because because they aren't in the loop. there are some other things going on as well. The point is that after seeing what the lack of communication is doing to her team that she worked so hard to build, is awful. She has three girls trying to leave and has no idea.

It is my personal goal that with quality and legislation changes and . as soon as we talk about inventory or quality that I can document that. Or if there are changes in the legislation that they be informed right way and to ask if they have ideas on how to implement that. Will I go with everything they say, probably not. However, its about being a team and building that empire and the people in it.

A strategic plan usually depicts a company’s goals, the approaches as well as tactics to be employed in achieving the goals over a period of time. There are numerous factors that the manager must always consider while generating a plan which include the potential opportunities and threats within the legal environment. Legislation and other legal issues are some of the possible challenges or threats that the managers encounter. A strategic plan always involves the development of a SWOT focusing of the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats of a company (Danca, 2005). However, the external environment such as legal issues comprising of challenging employment laws, limiting regulations and lawsuits tend to emerge while implementing the strategic planning. Managers should ensure that they comply with the changing regulations and laws for maximum benefit and withstand the competitive market. Further, the managers should ensure that the SWOT analysis recognizes the legislation and legal changes on time to ensure there is room for making adjustments.

Managers should also ensure that there is allocation of resources to cushion legislation challenges in their strategic planning. For example, there should be a budget for research on potential changing legal environment for the managers to recognize future expectations on legal changes. Managers can also avoid violation of the regulations by ensuring that there is frequent employee training to understand the stipulated legal and safety requirements. Notably, managers should be aware that violation of the law and regulations can affect the overall company’s public image (Lin et al., 2018). If the company is adversely affected b poor legal and unethical behavior, they should work towards improved consumer expectations and invest more in promotion aimed at rebuilding the public image after the negative events.
