By the end of this module successful students will be able to do the following:
LOC5: Evaluate one's performance and learning experience through a review of workplace experience with a bid to identify areas of competence
Assessment 001:As part of your WBL, you are asked to do a placement of113 hours’which could be at your workplace, or a different company which is not your workplace whichever will be available. After the completion of your placement, each student MUST be signed off by the placement provider and Student. During the placement and after the placement, the student must make sure that all the necessary parts are signed off by the placement supervisor, your module tutor and yourself as it is indicated in the placement portfolio.
Finally, youMUSTread all theCONTENTSof thePlacement Handbookwhereby you are expected to keep a portfolio of all the activities and practice at workplace/placement, testingLearning Outcomes 2 and 3 (2000 words). These accounts for 60% of the total marks.
Assessment 002:
A. Reflect upon ONE SPECIFIC KEY experience during the placement usingGibbs’ Model of Reflection to support your discussions – Use a table to detail the reflection model. Testing Learning Outcomes 1 and 4 (1000 words) NOTE – this MUST be a reflection FROM YOUR PLACEMENT EXPEREINCE.
The content in the table must be refined, concise & bullet-pointed information – this must be referred to in the body.
B. Present a personal detailed professional Winning CV that highlights your own experiences, accomplishments, competencies, career history, education, demonstrating your strengths and competencies for your dream Job. (Testing Learning objective (5)

•Within your examination of your skills and reflection, you must:

the workplace.

•You must use and reference key concepts, models and terms from relevant academic reading.

Your portfolio will be assessed against the specific learning outcomes identified above. You should consider the following criteria as a guide to producing your work in addition to the university’s generic assessment criteria:
•Details of the placement organization including the nature of its activities
Critical analysis of your experiences and performance within the organization in relation to the organisational theories in development of your skills, knowledge and understanding
Critical evaluation of the role of others in the organization
Use of appropriate theoretical concepts including reference to models
of reflection and experiential learning
Instructions on Assessment:
You will need to research appropriate literature and make use of both lecture and seminar input. Use examples and in particular any organizational comparisons that may be appropriate. Always reference your work using the correct conventions.
The word count is to be declared on the front page of your assignment. The word count does not include:

Bibliography
Appendices
Appropriate tables, figures and illustrations
Please note, in text citations [e.g. (Smith, 2011)] and direct secondary quotations [e.g. “dib-dab
nonsense analysis” (Smith, 2011 p.123)]are INCLUDEDin the word count.
Summarising and compressingthe information in your assignment into the word limitis one of the skills that students are expected to acquire, and demonstrateas part of the assignment process.
Submission of Assessment:
A single electronic document containing the workplace portfolio and a reflection uponONE SPECIFIC KEY experience during the placementusing Gibbs’ Model of Reflection.
Font size should be at least 11, and 1 1⁄2 line spacing should be used
The document should be properly structured with a table of contents, reference list (online and literature sources) and appendices (where
necessary).
Produce clear and specific reasoning to justify answers.
Work containing viruses, or work that cannot be opened, will result in a fail
grade being awarded for this assessment.
The document should be submitted via Canvas for Turnitin checking and JIRA for marking.
It is advisable to retain a copy of your assignment for your own records.
Your marks and feedback will be made available to you electronically once the internal moderation process has taken place, you should note that at this stage marks are still subject to external examiner and academic board
approval.

Reading List
Referencing your
work
In this institution the Harvard method of referencing is used.
The Harvard method of referring to publications and of arranging references uses the author's name and the date of the publication. References are listed at the end of the text in alphabetical order by author's name. The general format of a journal reference is shown below:
Smith, J. (1999) How to succeed! Journal of Entrepreneurs, 1(2), p. 34- 56
Author’s name and initials are listed first, followed by year of publication in brackets. Then there is the title of article and the journal where article appears, which is underlined or in italics. Finally, state the volume and issue Number (in brackets) along with the pages where article can be located.

Your submission link will become available approximately 3 weeks prior to your submission deadline, along with detailed instructions on how to submit your assignment.
Grading
You will be marked in accordance to the University of Sunderlandassessment criteria attached below. The assessment criteria cover; Relevance, Knowledge, Analysis, Argument and Structure, Critical Evaluation, Presentation, Reference to Literature.You should note that at this stage marks are still subject to
external examiner and academic board approval.
