Read the assigned readings for this module, then consider the following scenarios and discuss how you would go about setting a boundary with the client in each scenario in your initial post.
Here are the scenarios:

  1. Meeting with a client who has a powerful and overwhelming body odor, and is of a different ethnic group from you.

  2. A client invites you to dinner just to say "thank you" for helping them.

  3. Meeting with a client who curses a lot and talks very loudly, and is of a different ethnic group from you.

  4. Meeting with a client who is engaging in illegal activities.

Consider these guiding questions when framing the boundary you wish to establish with each client in the scenarios:

  1. What might you say to the client, and what might the client's response be?

  2. How would ethnic and cultural factors play a role in what you would say to the client?

  3. How would you address a client who says "no" to your request to change or modify their behaviors?

In response to your classmates, consider what they said they would say to the clients in each situation, and provide suggestions or alternatives based on the best practices you have read about.
