Introduction to the Roller-Coaster Project
In this project, the Lighting Fast Theme Park is doing their business very successfully. With their phenomenal success they had planned to build another new roller coaster as to accommodate more customer’s inflow. The planning for setting up of new roller coaster is required as already they have another roller coaster in action and is providing a great service.
Part A
There will be a point in the job where the analysis of my strengths and weakness need to conducted. The need for this analysis arises when there is need for handling a more responsible job. Being a project manager I will receive the opportunity to serve as a project leader and look after the panning and proper execution of the entire project is important and at that moment of time the analysis need to be done for the strengths and weakness is very crucial. Reyes-Delgado et al. (2016) analysed that the strengths and weakness are always present in everybody and the extent, effectively a person manages their weakness to minimize and effectively manages the strengths to enhance as to perform their task effectively.
Hence, I do possess a number of strengths and some weaknesses that will help me to perform my responsibility effectively, as a project manager. The strengths that I have, which will help me to be a good project manager is that I have a good judgement and prioritizing abilities. This is one of the most important factors because, as discussed by Damdinsuren and Ishdamba (2017), a project manager has to make many decisions such as large and small decisions. These decision need to be effectively prioritized based on their need and urgency, as which task need to be taken at first is very crucial and I have the quality to prioritize my tasks.
Communication is one of the most important aspects of any person to work effectively because without proper communication it is difficult to continue with the work with subordinates or management. As a person, I have an excellent communication skill which helps me to easily manage my entire team members. I have an ability to empower and empathize with the team members because as a leader it is my responsibility to look after all the aspects of the team members because without their joint effort and enthusiasm it is impossible to work on a task. I have an excellent ability to analyse the risks beforehand and that provided me time to search for the options to tackle and manage the risks effectively as to handle the operation of project in an effective manner. Therefore, these are few little strength, which I possess.
Along with strengths, there are certain weaknesses that everyone has and the way a person manages and minimise their weakness is a true nature of an effective manager (Mirza and Datta, 2019). The weaknesses that I possess are that I focus too much on details and that is a bit time consuming. Hence, I need to trust my subordinates and just do the checking after completion of every phase of work. I feel that I need to work on increasing my confidence level as I have a low confidence in myself and to work according to that. I shy away a bit regarding asking help from others and that I need to improve, as during a work I will need to take help. Hence, these are few weaknesses that I have, which I need to remove and convert them into strengths.
Part B
1. Consideration of Effective Project Management Tool
A Project consists of a range of project environmental factors, which are being characterized by a number factors such as high probability for change, high probability for speed, lowering of costs, complexity of the project, uncertainty regarding the future of the project and many more factors. Costa et al. (2019) have discussed there are four ways a project management can be considered. The four categories are the Traditional Project Management (TPM) approach, where the client clearly specifies the goal and the project team and they are defined by the way they will achieve the goal. In this scenario, a...
