To participate in the small group discussion, first, you need to understand the course contents. Please read your textbook, and listen to the lecture. Module 1 includes five discussion questions.
1. [Chapter 1] After reading the United 173 mini case (see below attachment to read the case), what are the main reasons that the cockpit crew allowed the aircraft to run out of fuel? (answer based on the unit of analysis – individual, group, and organizational levels) 
2. [Chapter 1] (Following from the first question) What should be changed? What would you suggest to avoid future repeats of this accident? (answer based on the unit of analysis – individual, group, and organizational level) 
3. [Chapter 2] Does your job require a significant amount of citizenship behavior? If so, please describe it with specific example behaviors. 
4. [Chapter 2] What type of counterproductive behaviors can be found in your job? Please describe with specific example behaviors. 
5. [Chapter 3] Please describe your commitment to your current (or previous) organization based on three types of commitment. 
Instructions:
· For questions 1 & 2, please read the attached "United 173 Mini case" first. You can find the link to the case at the bottom of this post. You will not be able to answer without reading the case.
· For questions 3 to 5, please share your own experience with specific examples.
· Extra Credit: If you actively participate in the discussion (e.g., respond to four or more postings with good quality comments), I will add some extra credits for discussion. Extra credits will be up to 5 points for discussion each week, and you can see it in a separate column on your grades page (Discussion Extra credit). It will be helpful for the course letter grade at the end of the semester, especially when the student is at the borderline (i.e., course total 89% can move to A, 79% can move to B).
Submission Instructions:
You must read questions carefully and make sure to respond to all discussion questions. The total points of the weekly discussion is 50 points.
