Scenario:
OTP is an organization that aims to provide an online tuition facility to students in
computer science for grade one to high school students. It provides an online path of
communication between the tutor and the student. The student initially requests a specific
topic for tuition, and the OTP calculates the expected fee and duration of the course. Once
finalized, the course gets advertised by the OTP recruitment officer. Interested candidates
apply online by providing their academic credentials. The OTP recruitment officer will
arrange an online meeting between the student and the tutor. After the successful
agreement, the OTP will need an official who assigns that tutor to teach the student.
Currently, this organization provides online tuition services in linguistics and science
courses. The company plans to start providing computer science online tuition in the
future.
Your Role:
You are hired as an IT intern in the OTP. The line manager assigned you to plan a project
that will provide a framework for how the organization starts providing computer science
online tuition effectively. For activity one, your line manager has asked to devise a project
plan stating its key elements (scope, quality, risk, resources, cost). Make use of appropriate
tools and techniques while gathering data and conducting research. During activity 2, you
have to provide analytical analysis and arguments regarding your designed project. During
the project, you are required to complete a project logbook to record ideas, changes, and
developments as you progress and complete the project.
Activity 1 Report 1 (LO1, and LO2)
Your line manager has asked you to develop a report in order to describe the objectives and
aims of the project you want to start. Your explanation should include a brief introduction
regarding your organization and relevant information about the project. Produce a
comprehensive project management plan, milestone schedule and project schedule for
monitoring and completing the aims and objectives of the project. The plan should include
cost, scope, time, quality, communication, resource, and risk management. The project
time frames and completion stages must be represented in the work breakdown structure
and Gantt Chart.
Select an appropriate procedure of data collection regarding the assigned task. As an IT
intern you are required to list the resources from which information is gathered. Conduct
small-scale research regarding already available similar platforms. Describe qualitative and
quantitative research methods appropriate for meeting the project aims and objectives of
the OLO project. Evaluate the best sampling approach (among probability and non-
probability) for the stated project. Compare different research methodologies and present
how the methodology chosen is more accurate and reliable.
To understand the difficulties faced by students and tutors and gain insights from these
stakeholders you are required to conduct primary research (Gather data through two survey
techniques: Questionnaires and interviews). Perform Surveys online questionnaires and in-
person interviews). Based on the insights from the primary and secondary research provide
recommendations to the organization to make virtual learning process more convenient.
You can illustrate your primary and secondary data results using visual representation.

Your line manager has asked you to extract information on computer-related jobs
published in the last six months in three prominent newspapers.
Illustrate the collected data through graphs. The presented data will highlight the demand
for skilled IT personnel in the market. The data and information can be analyzed through
graphs, pie charts, bar charts, etc. Critically evaluate the designed project management
process and the research methodologies used.
Activity 2 Report 2 (LO3, and LO4)
As an intern, analyze the data and research used in the project design using the appropriate
tools. Evaluate the communication modes (online or offline) involved in data collection
and choose the method optimal for conducting project research. All the outcomes and
findings should be presented logically in the report. The report should include an
evaluative conclusion drawn from the research and data analysis. Provide an in-depth
critical evaluation of tools and techniques used in project development to validate the
recommendations.
