Look at the following goals written by university students, and decide if they fit the SMART format for goal writing. If not, rewrite them so they do. The question these students answered was “What are your goals after graduation?”

1. Student 1: One of my goals after graduation is to find a job that has better pay.

2. Student 2: I would like to find a job that I can be happy with and get paid well.

3. Student 3: One of the goals I have set is to move up in the management career ladder after graduation, and get out of front line supervision in the banking industry. I also intend to continue my education by completing my MBA degree within 18 months.

4. Student 4: My minor is Internet Business Systems. After graduation, with the use of my education, I am going to have my own e-commerce business that will generate at least 60K a year.

5. Student 5: My goals after graduation are to pay off my loans as quickly as possible, and have a job where I’m financially comfortable.
