Topic that interests me the most
After studying various cost accounting concepts in this unit, I feel that my knowledge base has widened a lot and I have a crystal clear understanding of how exactly these concepts are applied in real life business situations. I also believe that after studying these units I was able to get a better understanding of how exactly costs are recorded, accounted for and reported by various businesses. Prior to studying this unit, my understanding about various concepts related to cost accounting was quite vague and my mind was filled with ambiguity to a lot of extent. As a result of the clarity in understanding of various cost accounting concepts that I gained after completing the study of this unit, my confidence level has increased. I am confident that if anytime in near future, if I am provided the responsibility of doing management reporting or costing analysis as a part of my responsibilities in a professional role with any organization, I would be able to do it without any difficulty. According to me the most interesting topic was budgeting. I believe that budgeting system is the most useful tool which is used by many business organizations around the world for planning and forecasting future costs and revenues related to the business and for taking various business decisions. Also, I find it very interesting to prepare various budgets; each budget is related to the other and in a practical budgeting question I am supposed to take care of the assumptions which are provided by the question. It is due to this reason only that I find the Budgeting system as the most interesting topic because working on budgeting concepts makes me feel that I am solving a real life business problem. I find it very interesting and exciting to work on the budgeting practical exercises and I believe that it has also helped me improve the speed with which I used to perform calculations. It makes me really happy when I realize that my mind is able to get sharper.
