Introduction
In this business world nothing can be achieved without any forms of effective business communication with the various stakeholders of an organization. Further, the people become most successful in the business world by mastering the art of effective communication. The business of today is extremely competitive and challenging. Therefore, in order to manage the factors of production such as the employees, materials, and equipment wisely, effective communication with all the stakeholders of the organization is crucial for all the managers. Further among these three
factors of production, it is the human resources or employees of the organization which is most difficult to control. The thoughts, feelings and emotions need to be administered in a skillful manner for acquiring maximum productivity. Hence, it is effective communication within an organization which plays a crucial role in achieving the organizational objectives. Communication plays a pivotal role in the organization in the form of flow of information, efficient utilization of resources and in implementation of policies. Hence, organizational communication is a form of communication among every member of the organization who have vested interest in the development and growth of the organization. Therefore, communication in true sense is considered as the salvation of every organization. Therefore, the employees regardless of the level of hierarchy or designation must communicate effectively with one another for accomplishing the work within the specified duration and for maintaining a prudent relationship at the workplace. Most of the issues and conflicts get disappeared as soon as the problems are being discussed with the help of an intermediary. Further, it is due to effective communication the employees of the organizations are able to deliver new and innovative ideas and strategies which are essential for the future growth of the organization.
Analysis
Communication is considered as one of the most significant devices used by the managers of the company for forming teams and achieving valuable performances. By being a manager of an organization does not mean only to rein in the organization but means to organize a team, the display leadership skills and most importantly to communicate effectively. It is due effective business communication in the form of openness, performance related feedback, communication of relevant information to the employees of the company with respect to the organizational policies and procedures creates a positive feeling of happiness in the workplace with respect to the job performance (O’Reilly & Roberts, 1977). Therefore, it is well known by the smart and efficient managers that these are the process through which the workforce can be motivated to become productive which can be beneficial for the organization in the long run (Waggoner, 2013). Further, there has been a strong association or link discovered between the managerial communication in an effective manner, perceived support from the organization and increase in the performance level of the employees. It was also being observed that it was due to increase in the perceived organization support or assistance from the company, resulted in a sense of happiness, motivation, satisfaction for the jobs and well-being of the organizational staffs (Eisenberger, Huntington, Hutchison, & Sowa, 1986). It has also been observed that the form of communication which helps to recognize the employees and encourages towards edifying commitment towards the company is bidirectional form of communication. Hence, it is a two-way communication process in an organization or workplace which is essential towards making the employees feel satisfied and help them to be successful and productive in the workplace as well as in all aspects of their lives (Anchor, 2010). Further, it is the crucial role and effective communication played by the managers which makes the employees believe that they have the ability and can contribute towards the company. This enables them to satisfy their socio-emotional needs and helps in understanding the readiness of the organization for recognizing and rewarding them for displaying their efforts and performance with respect to the work (Eisenberger & Stinglhamber, 2011). Hence, it is bi-directional or two-way communicate where both the managers and the employees will have the power and authority to speak their concerns helps in establishing a feeling of being valued and enhanced the employee job satisfaction.
The management and the managers should take into consideration the employees of the organization first. The aim of the managers is to cooperate the team members by collaborating their efforts, enhance the efficiency and accepting the new and innovative ideas of employees. The main objectives of the managers are to coordinate the activities, strategizing, organizing the preestablished goals, budgeting and controlling and evaluation of the achievements. It is the individuals of the company, known as the workforce of the company are the ones who gets benefitted due to the implementation of the strategy. It is the employees of the organizations who executes the strategies as per the tasks assigned by the managers towards attainment of the goals (Bodie and Crick, 2014). Hence, it is the managers who are in the charge of carrying out the functions of management and will use the process of communication and make it understandable for coordination of the business activities, for making business decisions and successfully implementing them for adhering to the agreements. According to a statistic issued by the US Bureau of Labor Statistics it was observed in the year 1983 that the rate of unemployment was at 10.4%. This was the all-time high rate of unemployment ever. Further, it again rose to 9.7% in the year 2010. Due to this reason, the employees throughout the employment industry were being affected with stress, depression, and anxiety due to loss of jobs (APA, 2012). Similar, situations erupted during covid-19 when workers of the organization faced similar situations due to lockdowns and shutdown of companies. Hence, it was felt that the employees would be benefitted only by improving the employee relations, through effective forms of communication and improving their morale (Waggoner, 2013). According to a survey conducted by a particular conference board in the year 2010 discovered that only 45% of the employees were being happy and satisfied with their jobs (Allen 1992). The biggest problem is that the managers have in the past worked in a negative manner by threats and authoritative means for increase the productivity of the employees and without recognizing the issues of the employees which can help to satisfy the employees and encourage them to be productive (Miller, 2006). It has been stated by Anchor (2010) that if the managers of the organization only try to reduce or mitigate the undesirable behaviors displayed by the employees which generally consists of procrastination, identifying the faults in every activity and the reasons due to which the employees are unable to communicate effectively with the customers or unable to meet the deadlines, then they will develop a plateau which will be of an average status. This will slip the opportunities for a heightened achievement and success. Hence, it is essential that the organizations and the managers should emphasize on the things which are working well instead of focusing on the which are inoperative, helps to provide a long-term satisfaction among the employees of the organization (Waggoner, 2013). Hence, it is essential for the managers to create a positive work-culture through effective communication with the employees which is more crucial...
