Many product labels are required by law to report certain information that doesn’t really promote the product or shine a positive light on it. For instance, cigarette and alcohol packages are required to carry health warning labels. Likewise, food labels are required to display certain nutritional information. Select a product with a label that presents some less-than-favorable information. Analyze the design of the label. Where is the bad news presented? What does the label emphasize? Write a letter to your instructor explaining why you think the label was designed as it was and why some information is given prominence while other information is subdued.
