The IP address plan will cover different elements such as subnet address, gateway, key IP for both the IPv4 and IPv6. Both the logical and physical network diagram is covered to provide better understanding of the network. Working of the IP address allocation scheme will be checked using eth simulation software that is Cisco Packet Tracer. The project report is mainly divided into 5 sections that are introduction, description of the organization, Ip address allocation plan for IPv4, Ip address allocation plan for IPv6, logical and physical diagram of the network along with proper annotation and conclusion. Introduction part will cover the background, purpose and scope of the report. It is followed by the organization description which will cover the assumptions and business activities for the given company. 1. Introduction
The project report aims to develop an IP address plan for the given network of the company. For the organizations administering data networks based on the TCP/IP protocol, IP addresses are assigned. Internationally regulated IP address and resource constrained. Therefore, demands for non-essential IP addresses should be limited. There are two types of IP address allocation that are static and dynamic. In this report static IP allocation is used but the company can also use the DHCP server for automatic IP allocation to ease the process.
In the given scenario, the company is planning to open three branches which have different networking devices including switches, routers, servers, printers and many more. The objective is to plan the IP addressing as per the new IP space for both the IPv4 and IPv6. Both the physical and logical diagram of the network is made with the help of software to provide a visual understanding of the plan. IP address allocation plan will include the IP address, subnet mask, default gateway, broadcast address and key IP address for every networking device such as printer, server, computers, routers etc. The diagrams of the network will be annotated with proper information to easily understand the network addressing. The project scope includes creating the IP addressing plan for the network for both IP v4 and IPv6. It will also cover eth logical and physical diagram of the network.
