Milestone 1-3 have been completed so what needs to be done is the Final Submission. If you can take the completed Milestones and incorporate the milestones into ONE comprehensive case study, adding 3 additional pages where you would want to elaborate on something. An introduction and conclusion paragraph is needed to bring things together. See Final Project Guidelines to view Critical Elements. Also, if needed, I can provide the guidelines from the previous milestones to show where to find which milestone to locate the answers that have already been addressed.

QSO 300 Final Project Guidelines and Rubric Overview The final project for this course is the creation of a comprehensive case study analysis. Every business—whether a beauty salon, automobile manufacturer, or professional baseball team—has an operations component that creates goods and services by transforming inputs into outputs. There are a wide variety of tools and techniques that operations managers draw upon to increase efficiency and effectiveness, creating value for customers. Operations management professionals are in high demand across a variety of industries. Having basic knowledge of operations functions and their integration capabilities is critically important in the world of business. For example, applying the limitations of production in marketing and sales is a routine task. Managing the equipment and supplies needs of operations management is a basic skill looked for in finance and accounting workers. For your final assessment in this course, you will analyze a case study that addresses several key operations management fundamentals. You will use the tools and techniques that operations managers use and incorporate your instructor’s feedback into the final summative analysis. You will address the typical problems that operations managers face using the knowledge you have gained from this course. Finally, you will discuss the emerging concepts of sustainability in business management, specifically the topics of corporate responsibility and environmental compliance. The project is divided into three milestones, which will be submitted at various points throughout the course to scaffold learning and ensure quality final submissions. These milestones will be submitted in Modules Two, Four, and Five. The final project is due in Module Seven. In this assignment, you will demonstrate your mastery of the following course outcomes:  Evaluate the influence of operations functions on generating value for a firm and its customers  Explain theories and techniques used by operations managers for informing production processes  Accurately apply problem-solving and decision-making skills to real-world problems using quantitative and qualitative methodologies  Integrate emerging principles into operations management functions by addressing corporate responsibility and environmental sustainability Prompt Using the knowledge you have gained from this course, you will write a comprehensive analysis of the case study we have been analyzing throughout this course (located in the Reading and Resources area of Module One) by addressing the critical elements below. Imagine that you are hired into the role of the operations manager at the company described in the case study. Although there are many issues facing the company, you have some experience and are well qualified to provide direction in solving these problems. To address many of the questions below, you will want to review your submissions from previous modules and incorporate instructor feedback. Using the case study, course materials, and outside sources, prepare a cohesive case study analysis for submission as one document. Specifically, the following critical elements must be addressed: I. Generating Value A. Evaluate how the company in the case study uses operations management functions to provide products and generate value for its customers. Support your claims with examples from the case study or outside sources. B. Assess how this company achieves a competitive advantage using operations management. Introduction
The following project gives the comprehensive case study analysis of a quick service restaurant owned by the family named Peanut Valley Cafe. The project gives an insight about the operations management in the particular company and uses variety of tools and techniques in order to recognize the capabilities of the company. It is evident that operations management in the company effectively enhances the productivity and potential efficiency of the organization. The project determines the effectiveness of the company by addressing various operations management fundamentals. It focuses on the aspects that comprehensively generate value to the organization and several theories and techniques that are efficient for improving the operations in the company. Data analysis has contemplated by constructing a hypothetical process map cause and effect diagram, inventory management process and other macro environment that affects the operations of the organization. The report has also measured the various aspects of sustainability that affects the organizational operation.
I. Generating Value
Regarding the case study, Sam and Dr. Abraham focus on employee training as many of the managers in Pleasant Valley were lacking managerial skills. At the same time, Dr. Abraham also suggests Sam increase the food menu in the restaurant so that it can attract more customers for the organization. However, he suggested including the traditional food of Mexican city tacos and American cuisine hamburgers along with the present menu to address the customer's value and attraction (Gupta, Gallear, Rudd & Foroudi,2020). Through these initiatives, Sam and Dr. Abraham desire to relate with the customer's emotions and value them with fish tacos. At the same time, both pay attention to the implementation of quality hospitality service in the restaurant so that it could align with customer value and attract them.
Regarding the case study, it has been found that both the owner Sam and Dr. Abraham focus on the size of the menu and the quality assessment of the food quality they offer their customers (Othman, Khatab, Esmaeel, Mustafa & Sadq, 2020). At the same time, the company also pays attention to interlinked with the traditional cuisine of local people such as Mexican cuisine tacos and fish tacos instead of beef and traditional food of USA hamburger.
They do so within a marginal price, which would help them to achieve the competitive advantage as no other restaurant in the pleasant valley offer this to the customers. On the other hand, the company owner also pays attention to enhancing proper training among their managers so that they can achieve skills according to the quality hospitality management.
After reviewing the case study, it has been found that the manufacturing service is in good condition in the Pleasant Valley Cafe as it has a skilled cook in the restaurant and they can do well in producing delicious fast food for their customers. However, the service operation was found to be weak in the restaurant due to a lack of managerial skill and coordination (Hill,2020). The similarity between these two is as quality manufacturers overcome the barriers of service operation of the restaurant and work together to implement the value of customers by providing them a quality, delicious food within the good manner of hospitality service.
II. Theories and Techniques
The program evaluation and review technique would be favored for the company discussed in the case study as it helps Sam and his management committee to manage time and access the resources that could help the company to launch a new project for the restaurant (Cattaneo & Titiunik,2021).
Many steps such as identifying the internal issues of Pleasant Valley Cafe, collection of relevant information, performance analysis, and data analysis can help the company to enhance a suitable forecast for the company. It would help the company to reduce the conflict among managers and can help to design such an appropriate training program to control the behavioral issues of staff in the restaurant (Yang, Wang, Niu & Du,2020). The new project that has been proposed by Mr. Abraham in employee meetings could gain a competitive advantage for the restaurant in the future and raise the sales graph.
Material Requirements Planning
Material requirements processing determines the cross material requirements and then subtract the inventory on the hand and again it is added back in the safety stock in order to compute the net requirements. It is mainly used to determine the net requirements for the raw materials or components and sub assemblies for each period on the planning horizon of the organization. It offers a number of potential benefits to the organization that include helping the production managers to minimize inventory levels and associated carrying cost. The information that is generated from the materials requirements processing is also useful for the production planners and the production managers to balance workloads across the departments and weak decisions about scheduling work.
Comparison between CPM & PERT
PERT is a project management technique that it refers to the planning, scheduling, organizing, coordinating and controlling on certain activities. While, CPM is a statistical technique that is used within the project management for similar activities but it is much better defined than the PERT method. PERT is generally used for controlling the time written by the activities within the organization will CPM is a method to control costs and time. PERT in general is evolved as a part of the research and development of the project and CPM is a part of the construction of a project. The first method is set according to...
