  • show confident management of the session

  • show attention to the client’s process, picking up on client cues and responding with appropriate skills and interventions.

  • Move the client on by identifying strengths and possibilities.

  • convey acceptance of client’s emotions and situation

The essay sheds light on the skill of my reflection and my acknowledgment that explore the professional and personal development of the skill of communication. However, reflection is the process that can help to make the right decision as it suggests planning and thinking positively before committing the decision that would enhance a better result in the understanding of critical thinking in both personal and professional sectors for a person. Though enlightened by this thought I have succeeded to make positive changes in the way of my communication skill after the incident of my earlier trainee period of nursing course.
However, I would like to approach Gibb's reflective cycle to demonstrate and reflect on my experience on communication skills throughout the paper (Adeani, Febriani and Syafryadin, 2020). Furthermore, the model encourages me to follow the six stages such as the description of the incident, then analyse the incident and follow through evaluation, conclusion and required to approach the relevant action plan.
Communication is complexly featured as per the variation of communicating elements and different aspects such as social, psychological, mechanistic, critical and systematic viewpoints. It includes several factors, listening, empathy, openness, respect, even non-verbal elements of communication such as facial expression and body language. However, the consideration of all the elements and viewpoints is essential for the personal and professional development of a person and I am going to discuss my experience on the development of communication skills through my academic journey when I was the trainee of my nursing course (Markkanen et al. 2020).
I have come to know how different people come across different styles of communication and the significant role of communication to increase connectivity in our professional and personal life. With time, I have gathered knowledge of how people often use to exchange their emotions, understanding and ideas through their communication skills and I even came to know the significance of openness in communication policy that diminishes the range of conflict (Mishra and Mishra, 2020).
Nevertheless, it is an essential element in the sector of the public health area as the relationship between patients and healthcare staff depends on effective communication skills. However, through reflection, the knowledge can be improved, introduced with self-awareness and could have approached critical understanding. In this context, communication skill is the relevant and reliable evidence that plays a major role to improve personal and professional development.
Description
I was in my earliest stage of nursing when I had experience with the necessity of communication skills that I had not. After six months of our training period, my seniors have asked us to make a group and to construct a presentation on the subject of obesity increasing among older people that we need to explain in front of our senior sisters and Doctors....
