My research interest is the special education/ autism and Intellectual ability.


For this discussion activity, you are to find a journal article in your research area that is of interest to you in which the author(s) have used a multiple linear regression (Try to avoid articles that discuss moderation or mediation...that is beyond the scope of this class). The article can have other analyses discussed, but you are just going to focus on the regression analysis in the article.


In your own words describe what the authors did for their multiple regression (what were the research question(s)?; tell us what the IVs, the DVs, and the CVs are) and what their results were.


Critique the write-up of the analysis: Was it clear? Did they provide all relevant information (e.g., beta weights, regression equations, effect sizes, assumptions test results, significance levels) for this analysis? Were the authors justified in using the specific multiple regression that they used, how do you know this? Did they include their results in a useful table/graphic? Was further explanation given in the discussion section regarding this particular result and if so was it compared to the previous literature? What would you do to improve their multiple regression analyses?
