Overview
For this project, I have chosen to analyze LifeServices Management Corporation which is a management-based company that owns and manages 9 different Assisted Living Facilities with 4 in Ohio an
d 5 in Pennsylvania. The headquarters (corporate office) where they consolidate all activities is in Erie, Pennsylvania, where I am stationed. Various than commercial and residential real estate, the corporation also manages and constructs other sorts of properties. For this assignment, however, I will concentrate on the administration of our company's Assisted Living Facilities division.
Upon reviewing this organization, I discovered that there is a high rate of staff turnover, which is negatively impacting the organization's reputation and brand image. In this situation, management's autocratic leadership is to blame for high staff turnover rates. There is a significant communication gap between employees and management. As a result, the dependable variable is the high staff turnover rate, whereas the independent variable is management's autocratic leadership.
Organization Profile
LifeServices Management Corporation is a company that specializes in assisted living. It is a privately held corporation that has built, owned, and operated nine excellent assisted living residences in western Pennsylvania and the greater Cleveland, Ohio region. Mr. Scott D. Allen and Mr. Timothy W. Coughlin, Co-Owners of LifeServices, formed the company in 1995 and run and manage all of the communities from their central office in Erie, Pennsylvania. All LifeServices Communities endeavor to provide quality, resident-directed assisted living services to the approximately 500 older persons who live in their communities today in their apartment houses.
Administration and care are communicated in the Mission, which is contained four straightforward expressions that more established individuals have told them are vital "personal satisfaction esteems" to them: freedom, protection, pride, and decision. Occupants have assisted them with understanding the reason why they needed to remain in their own homes as far as might be feasible, and what they anticipate from the firm when it comes time to go along with one of their networks. In whatever way they support the inhabitants, each individual from the consideration staff shares the excitement of those four words. However, the organization is currently experiencing high staff turnover rates. The explanation for this is the management's authoritarian leadership style.
Purpose
The purpose of the research paper is to understand the relationship between autocratic leadership style and severe employee turnover rate at LifeServices Management Corporation. In addition, to figure out ways to solve the problem of severe employee turnover at LifeServices Management Corporation.
Research Question
For this research paper, the research question is: How autocratic leadership style affects employee turnover in the healthcare sector?
Terms and Definitions
Autocratic leadership is an administration style in which one individual settles on each of the choices with little investment from different individuals from the association (Janićijević, 2017). Absolutist pioneers settle on decisions or decisions dependent on their feelings and don't look for info or direction from others. This is an administration style in which one individual, normally a pioneer or an individual from the association, settles on choices for the organization's sake. This type of initiative is especially normal in little associations with a predetermined number of representatives.
Just organizations where the idea of the work requires quick dynamics will profit from this authoritative style (Chukwusa, 2018). The pioneer bears total responsibility for the decision and its outcome. It is viewed as an adaptable initiative style, but in some cases that it is currently old. Notwithstanding, the dictator administration has a few components, like not taking a contribution from other gathering individuals, directing all work or dispersing liability among different representatives, and not fulfilling or perceiving staff to improve confidence.
A few specialists propose that since this style takes after that of a tyrant, it very well may be unsafe as opposed to gainful in the long haul. Worker assurance endures subsequently, which can prompt turnover as a rule (Mohiuddin, 2017). There are, in any case, certain benefits to the dictator administration. It empowers fast dynamics, power over an organization's techniques and exercises, etc. In situations where an organization is continually changing or confronting an emergency, the despotic authority will be gainful. As a result of its improvement on authoritative construction and ability to settle on fast choices, it will want to respond to circumstances more rapidly than other administration styles.
Worker turnover is characterized as the deficiency of ability in the labor force over the long haul (Singh, 2019). Renunciations, cutbacks, terminations, retirements, geological changes, and even passings are generally instances of representative flights. Worker turnover is often determined by organizations as a method of expecting the effect on creation, client care, and even assurance. Worker turnover is additionally determined at a public...
