Throughout the term, you will be asked to report on various elements of victimology by completing a journal assignment that addresses various scenarios, cases, essays, and research. All journal assignments will be done within the assignment tool. You will have specific defined titles for each assignment. Your titles should be the main header on your assignment. The course is very well structured and offers strong foundation to develop deep insights in Victim and Justice System. Right from the first assignment, I was able to comprehend the Crime Victim's Right Act and Victim of Crime Act (VOCA) not only of the state I am familiar about but also many other states. By the virtue of frequent discussion, I was able to know about how VOCA is implemented in New Jersey, Rhode Island, North Carolina, Missouri and many others. It was amazing platform to learn, share and collaborate. Furthermore, some of the essential concepts like offender being a victim which is perhaps very difficult to comprehend was creatively explained ove the course. I learnt that there are many cases where offenders of the crime are actually victims behind the scene. Applying various case study like case of Cyntoia Brown, who was a young girl of 16-years old who was sexually abused and victim of sex trafficking. However, she was convicted for murdering then man who molested and used her for sex.
