TASK


Select an existing service or program designed to improve the health outcomes of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people and prepare a poster for presentation that informs the viewer about that service in10 minutes +/- 10%.


In your poster presentation you need to inform the viewer how your chosen service or program reflects a holistic view of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander health, advances Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander health, aligns with community values and expectations and develops community capacity.


The poster should have a title, your details (student name and number) and at least 4-5 small sections with text(Totalling 500 words +/- 10%)and an overarching heading for each section. You can decide what headings are appropriate for your poster but generally the viewer should be able to clearly identify the following information:


Introduction---What the name of the organization is and why it was chosen


Background---Inform the viewer what the service or program aims to achieve, what the problem is that they may be trying to assist with and what they do and who they do it for


Conclusion--- What they have achieved, what they may hope to achieve moving forward/vision strategic plan


References--- A small text box with at least 3-5 references should be provided



Rationale: As part of closing the gap initiative there is an emphasis on prevention, management, and sustainability through the use and development of services and programs that are Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander led and/or are Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander centered. Meaning the focus is on meeting the needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people


As this is a poster you should use design elements such as images/tables/graphs to engage the viewer.


Students should avoid a verbatim reading tone when they are presenting and should aim to make the message clear, interesting and rememorable (Practice makes perfect)!
