    Due to the surge of the global pandemic, there has been a havoc rise in the number of patients worldwide. The situation of Texas is no different from the rest of the world. The hospitals and the healthcare centres located in Texas are undergoing a lot of pressure arisen due to the increased burden of the covid infected patients. However, the glaring issue of inadequate staffing of the nurses is wreaking havoc in the hospitals and healthcare centres of Texas. All the parties are being affected as a result of the inadequate staffing of the nurses. From the perspective of the nurses, it can be said that, the limited number of nurses who are working in the hospitals of Texas are being overburdened as a result of the excessive pressure of the increased number of patients.
In addition to that, the nurses are feeling completely burnt out as a result of the excess workload in the hospitals and healthcare centres. They are also not being properly compensated in the purview of financial raise in their usual salaries, as a result of which, their interest in work is getting gradually diminished. The nurses who are undergoing the extreme rate of pressure in the hospitals, are also showing instances of mental problems, such as stress, anxiety, depression and so on. The excess burden is also impacting their physical health to a great extent. The patients are also not being properly looked after, due to the inadequate staffing of the nurses in the hospitals. There can be terrible consequences in case this issue continues. It will lead to burnout, stress, physical strain of the nurses. It will also result in employee turnover to a great extent. (283)

    The issue of lack of staffing of the nurses in the hospitals and healthcare centres of Texas is a major problem in the current scenario. It is primarily due to this reason, that it is extremely important to address the issue in a manner which will be hard hitting for the authority figures and the administrative personnel of the healthcare sector. The issue can be addressed with the help of Nursing Legislative Agenda Coalition (NLAC), which is a kind of coalition of different nursing organisations in and around Texas. They can be extremely helpful in terms of sharing of decisions, strategies, priorities and problems of the current nursing role scenario during the Texas Legislature. They can prove to be beneficial in the process of detailing the issue with the help of the personal experiences of excessive workload of the nurses, which can act as evidence for the issue.
