Oil from a large container flows vertically down in a 3 cm inner-diameter circular pipe, as shown in the sketch. Assuming the flow is fully developed, calculate the shear stress at the pipe inner wall. Also calculate the shear at the center of the pipe. Estimate the shear force acting on the inner surface of a 1 m long pipe segment. What are the flow rate and the Reynolds number? Use fluid properties from Table 1.1.
