Self- reflection
Introduction
In the golden words of John Donne, "No man is an island, entire of itself", essentially implying that in life no individual can survive alone whether professionally or personally. I feel it is very relevant as I reflect my journey wor
king with other members in a team (Prentice, W., 2004). Indeed, teamwork forms an instrumental part in fulfilling as well as implementing common objectives effectively and efficiently. I was part of the team working on the project presentation about the analysis on how leadership, ethics, power and values affecting one another as well as evaluating different strategies for change management in effective way and collaborating better.
Part1
We were team of 4 people who because of this COVID situation connected through the platform of social media. Each team member was dedicated and played a crucial role in achieving the desired goal and contributing their 100% in the project. We worked effectively by setting goals and deadlines. While working in a team we comprehended strengths and weakness such that we could leverage the strong points of each member. By virtue of teamwork, I was able to discern my strengths and weakness (Tuckman, B., 1965). Moreover, I comprehended my role and responsibilities by leveraging my strengths as well work on my areas of improvement. I got the opportunity to introspect thereby drawing lessons and reflections on manage the differences in the team as well as emergencies in the teamwork. We leverage technology to its fullest. As per the theory of Team Role , one can easily comprehend that different members of team have different roles to play as per different degree to which they are assigned work. Therefore, by analysing the attributes of various kind of roles, we can allocate particular role to person who can perform it the best (Belbin D.M., 2007). Furthermore, applying Handy's Topology of power, I realised that power is contained by few people whose influence radiates throughout the organisation. Power actually determines the course of action my team members. As per Charles Handy's Topology of role, here power is determined by position or role of an individual in the organisation or team structure (Hersey, P. and Blanchard, K., 1982). In our team, we had followed role culture to be specific and specifically we had four roles. My main role was to compile all the different task provided by the members, proof-read, edit and make it into the presentation.
