Watch the video -Understanding the Core Components of SQL Serverand provide your response to the following questions:

1. In your opinion, what are the advantages of using a database management system such as SQL Server?

2. What are the core components of SQL Server?

3. Briefly identify and define the component that allows you to create and management the database.
Part II:Reply to each post below (150-200 words is good):1.There are many advantages of using a database management system, such as SQL Server. This includes sharing data between database users based upon level authorized access, reducing data redundancy to avoid having multiple copies of the same file, data integrity to ensure the accuracy of data, and data security which only allows access to authorized users. Database managementsystems also provide privacy constraints, faster performance, data consistency due to reduced data redundancy, backup and recovery after a crash or system failure, and reliability.

The core components of SQL Server are SQL Management Studio,Business Intelligence Development Studio, the configuration manager, and the SQL Server Profile,Reporting Services,Analysis Services, and Integration Services.

SQL Management Studio allows users to create and manage the database.SQL Server Management Studio is an integrated environment for accessing, configuring, managing, and developing all components of SQL Server.

2.

One main advantage of using an SQL server is data integrity;meaning that it makes sure that the collected data is accurate and consistent. If we take a look at the core components of the SQL Server then those include security, reliability, performance, and data integrity is also a core component of the SQL Server.

The4 main components thatmake up the database include users,Database Management System so-called(DBMS),database application, and database. However,to maintain the database system,we need hardware, software, procedures, data, query process, data manager, database engineer, run time database manager, database access language, etc.they all play a very significant role to maintain the DBMS.

1) Database management system can be thought of as a software system which helps the user to define, manipulate, extract and manage the data stored in the database. Microsoft SQL server is a type of relational database man
agement system which is developed and maintained by Microsoft. The main function of this server is to store the data and retrieve is according to the need of user.
Advantages of SQL server
· The server 2008 uses the policy-based management system and helps in detecting the policies which are non-compliant (Sajid Amjal).
· MS SQL server comes with inbuilt transparent data compression and encryption feature also.
· Data integrity is made better by including the triggers in server. The triggers can be applied on the addition, updating or deletion of any data.
· In MS SQL server filtration is performed to reduce the size of the data and hence performance enhances. In SQL server the overall speed of working is approximately improved by 3 to 5 times (Kevin Boone).
· In SQL server, the network traffic is also controlled in a client-server scenario. This helps in improving the network reliability and we get a better network for other software also.
· SQL server enhances the scalability of the system. In access only 10 concurrent clients can use it but server allows around hundreds or even thousands of the concurrent users and there is no significance drop in performance.
2) Components of the SQL server
The SQL server comprises of mainly four components and three of them are sporting acronyms (Ken Withee).
· Database engine- This is the core part of SQL server which helps in creating the relational databases and driving them.
· SQL server analysis services (SSAS) – It is used to analyse the data of the SQL server. It creates the OLAP cubes which is also known as Online Analytical Processing. It is a type of programming which helps in organization of data inside the relational database and it also helps in data mining. Data mining can be defined as extracting relevant data from the database based on the question.
· SQL server reporting services (SSRS) – This service is used to support with the report irrespective of the operating system used.
· SQL server integration services (SSIS)- This service is responsible for extracting, transforming and loading the data which results in clean and formatted data and makes it a ready to use information.
3) The database engine is the most important component of the SQL server as it allows the storing and managing data in the database...
