1. Design a ladder logic control for a single ( NO) momentary push button switch to perform both the start ( enable) and stop ( disable )
function .
The first actuation of the PB turns ON an output and the second causes the output to turn OFF

a. Using Latch and Unlatch Instructions

b. Using only the OTE Instruction

2. Determine the condition of the input sensors ( activated or not activated ) for continuity in the figure
below .
The sensor contact configuration
are
as follow :

A = NO, B = NC, C = NO, D = NO, E = NC, F = NO, G = NC, H = NO

3. The
tank
process is changed as follows:

• Pump 1 ( original pump) is on from start until a float switch at the 50% level is true ( NO contacts are closed )

• Pump 2 ( new pump) is on from 50% until the high level float switch is active

• All other tank operations remain the same

Create the program for this new tank operation and describe the input and output interface

HW #3– Intro to PLC Programming 1. Design a ladder logic control for a single ( NO) momentary push button switch to perform both the start ( enable) and stop ( disable ) function . The first actuation of the PB turns ON an output and the second causes the output to turn OFF a. Using Latch and Unlatch Instructions b. Using only the OTE Instruction 2. Determine the condition of the input sensors ( activated or not activated ) for continuity in the figure below . The sensor contact configuration are as follow : A = NO, B = NC, C = NO, D = NO, E = NC, F = NO, G = NC, H = NO (a) (b) (d) 3. The tank process is changed as follows: · Pump 1 ( original pump) is on from start until a float switch at the 50% level is true ( NO contacts are closed ) · Pump 2 ( new pump) is on from 50% until the high level float switch is active · All other tank operations remain the same Create the program for this new tank operation and describe the input and output interface (a) Tank process Input devices: · Two float switches—a low level (L1) that is NO and a high level (L2) that is NC. · A temperature switch (TS1) with a trigger value of 185° F that has one NC contact and one NO contact. · Two momentary push button switches—an NC stop (PB1) and an NO start (PB2). Output devices: · Two contactors with overloads—one for the heater and one for the pump. · A solenoid operated outlet valve.
