Find out the types of incidents that must be reported to the WHS Regulator, how and when to report. You must respond to the following points in relation to the NSW Work Health and Safety Act 2001 and the NSW Work Health and Safety Regulation 2017. Do you need to preserve the site if a Notifiable Incident occurs? Yes OR No What consultation processes will you use to ensure that the Site Supervisor and all workers are aware of their responsibilities for co-operating with the Inspectors and for reporting incidents. 1. Types of incidents that must be reported to the WHS Regulator, how and when to report.
There
are three types of incidents that must be reported to WHS Regulator, (i) major incidents- large-scale incidents won't arise too often, however after they do hit, businesses want to be organized to cope with them fast and efficiently; (ii) repetitive incidents- Some incidents simply preserve coming up, irrespective of what you do to clear up them and (iii) complex incidents. According to the model NHS Act, the notifiable incidents are: (i) a person’s death- irrespective of the person’s position, (ii) serious illness or injury and (iii) A risky incident that exposes any character to an extreme risk, even though nobody is injured.
