Cite and list appropriate references. These are testing times for education. Exacerbated by a time of austerity (Lewis & West 2017), England's Education system is ending up gradually moving towards privatisation, decentralisation and motivation underpinned by an economic future (Hill, 2009). With this system teachers are compelled to adapt to frequent and prescriptive government changes, result driven league tables and abnormal amounts of responsibility (i.e. extra additions to the job description) as a result of restructuring to form a flat management structure. This study will seek to understand the links between these areas and the capacity of looking at studies of resilience and data on blogs etc to understand what is really going on currently for teachers in the Education system. Many teachers have been left feeling exhausted, underestimated and professionally diminished by the changes (Priestley et al. 2012). According to the ONS, the government statistics, 'wastage' (i.e. 2 Teachers, Support staff, TAs etc) amongst schools and academies in England has reduced by 10% for every year (DfE, 2017, table A1); this is coupled with around 47,000 teachers leaving the profession each year, which is up 50 per cent on 2016 figures (Ball, 2018). More concerning still, around 30 to 50 percent of new teachers leave inside their initial five years (Howson, 2009). In this way, the circumstances have been compared to a 'revolving door', with expansive quantities of teachers being recruited while numerous others withdraw (Ingersol, 2002). A few elements have been found to impact teachers' choice to leave, with unnecessary workload and stress regularly referred to as the most common reason (Barmby, 2006; Smithers and Robinson, 2003). In truth, teaching is progressively perceived as a 'high anxiety’ profession (Galton and McBeath, 2008; Kyriacou, 2000) and teacher stress is currently an area of universal research interest, alongside the psychological phenomena of 'burnout' (Kyriacou, 1987, 2001). The shifting emphasis from needs of the teacher and children to the management of image (how the school looks to the community) in neoliberal times (Ball, 2010) is the impetus for this study. This study also seeks to understand the links between the way the system currently is and the capacity of looking at studies of resilience and the data on posts and blogs etc, to understand the links between current political agendas and the professional experiences of teachers, to identify the commonalities/tensions between the macro and micro levels of the profession to further understand what is really going on with a view to suggest improvements. The consequences of abnormal amounts of stress on the teaching populace are various. In singular terms, the impacts are clear and can incorporate harm to physical and emotional wellness, confidence and individual connections (Howard and Johnson, 2004). From an economic point of view, stress related teacher attrition results in to a huge loss of government investment (Gibbs and Miller, 2013). Overly stressed teachers are then likely to become increasingly less effective as their morale and commitment worsens, and so pupils’ education may also be adversely affected (Day et al., 2006. As Kyriacou (1987, p.147) cautions, 'stress and burnout may essentially debilitate the working relationship a teacher has with his[/her] students and the nature of teaching he[/she] can display.' Educational psychologists, already worried as they are with the impact of league tables for schools/students and youngsters and other concerns of teachers, these statements warrant thought and or investigation. Many social media platforms, such as Twitter, Instagram and Facebook are often used as platforms to air one’s concerns or feelings. The study will draw upon comments contained in social media platforms to understand the realities of teachers using the schools system. One aspect of individual subjectivity often mentioned as a means to combat stress is resilience. Resilience is a multidimensional, socially constructed concept and can be enhanced or inhibited by the nature of the setting in which we work, the people with whom we work and the strength of our beliefs or aspirations as a dynamic within a social system of interrelationships (Benard, 1995, Luthar et al., 2000) Resilience should not primarily be associated with the capacity to “bounce back” or recover from highly traumatic experiences and events as one thought but, rather, in the case of Education and other similar contexts can look at the capacity to maintain equilibrium and a sense of commitment and agency in the everyday worlds in which teachers teach (Mansfield et al. 2012). This study rejects an individualised notion of resilience as a personal disposition but I seek to problemetise the concept to consider the outside influences on the levels of resilience shown in particular circumstances. ‘Resilience however, should be seen as a relational dynamic and resilience resides not in the individual but in the capacity for connection’ (Jordan, 2006, p73). Our brains’ robust ability to change enables people to rework back into healthy connections, achieve more secure attachment and through this, ‘begin to shift underlying patterns of isolation and immobilisation’ (Jordan. 2006, p74). Thus pointing to my theory that resilience comes from the micro, meso and macro areas and can be tackled and eased by intervention. Toxic cultures, for example within schools, may devalue our need of others and impedes our ability to turn to them for support in distress (Samier & Milley 2018; Wang 2018) and they challenge ‘our capacity to form supportive and resilience building relationships’ (Silva et al. 2018, p256). These arguments give impetus to investigate resilience critically with a view to improve the resilience and well-being of teachers. A caring relation is, ‘in its most basic form, a connection or encounter between two human beings i.e. a carer and a recipient of care, or cared for’ (Noddings, 2005). A trusting relationship is ‘cultivated’, ‘a matter of human effort’ and thus ‘never something already “already at hand”, ‘it can and often must be conscientiously created, not simply taken for granted’ (Solomon and Flores, 2001, p87). Bonding social capital is for the improvement of organisational efficiency (Putnam, 1995; Hargreaves and Fullan, 2012). This adds further to my theory that improved or extended mentoring and CPD can go someway to solve the issues of teacher attrition and retention. Relationships acknowledge a collective competitiveness, effectiveness is an outcome of their joint, collaborative efforts by creating intellectual capital; an effective way of building a shared repertoire of expertise and wisdom in their department and/or school. Connecting them emotionally and spiritually; building strong emotional ties and shared values and interests in making a difference to the learning and achievement of every child (Silva et al. 2018). As time has moved on and with the emergence of neo-liberalism the needs of teachers appear to have been left behind and technology focuses merely on data gathering and analysis and not how situations affect the ‘teachers’ for example, stress factors, emotional intelligence. The discourses and practices of neoliberalism, including government policies for education and training, public debates regarding standards and changes in funding regimes (Lackéus, 2017), have been identified in schools and academies in western societies and it has been and still is a testing time for education. Until now we have been hard pressed to say what neoliberalism is, where it comes from and how it works on us and through us to establish the new moral order of schools and schooling, and to produce the new student/subject who is appropriate to (and appropriated by) the neoliberal economy. Beck (2018) refers to the current social order as the ‘new modernity’s’ and he characterises the changes bringing about the present forms of society as having been both surreptitious and unplanned, that is, as being invisible and difficult to make sense of. In avoiding a theory in which anyone or any group may have been planning and benefiting from the changes, he falls back on the idea of natural and inevitable development, and optimistically describes the changes

Personal Statement
My research shall contemplate the aspects of the rising concerns in the North Eastern part of the United Kingdom. I am seeking to leverage my experience within the field of professional scientific research and utilize the knowledge that I have gained during my graduation and post-graduation courses. What motivates me to start the research for the doctor of philosophy program is to accomplish my passion to impact the knowledge and skills about the people based on the knowledge and skills that I have acquired in my Academics and work experience. I have been nursing the ambition of becoming a lecturer in the field of public health and health education which I believe will be very relevant after the completion of my degree the Doctorate of Philosophy.
Proposal Statement
In this current aspect of the public health scenario, it is obvious that socio-economic disadvantages are linked to obesity across generations in the UK. Socio-economic disadvantages are the prominent factors that are responsible for the inequality in public health. Therefore, this field requires holistic research regarding the gradual deterioration of the Public Health context in the UK. This research will contemplate the issues specifically in the North East part of the UK and will seek to enquire about the linkage between the social economic disadvantages and the problem of obesity.
The Field of Research
The overall population health indicators have improved yet the rate of improvement has not been experienced equally in every place. The white spread inequalities in health between and within the society reflect the different conditions in which people live (Caballero, 2019). The health inequalities are respectively against the human right to health and are specifically unnecessary and unjust which shall be contemplated in this particular research.
Evidence-based health policy frameworks across society have been focused to promote health and well-being. But the aspect of health inequalities and the linkage between social and economic inequality have resulted in vital health inequalities owing to obesity. Obesity has become a major global health problem with an important implication for public health. This is effective from various researches that obesity has significantly affected the health consequences and has been the contributing factor towards experience in the premature onset of multiple morbidities (Weihrauch-Blüher & Wiegand, 2019). Even though obesity has always been considered the result of overconsumption of high-energy foods it is evident from relevant research that social-economic factors are also responsible to enhance the risk of obesity among individuals.
The research shall contemplate the linkage between these social-economic factors and the risk of obesity in the North East part of the UK. Evidence has also shown that the aspects of physical activity and a sedentary lifestyle have been also linked with the risk of obesity (Chaudhury, 2019). The existing literature has perpetually investigated the effects of education and income as factors of social-economic status on obesity in developed countries too. An empirical study with regards to the population of Germany indicated that less educated and lower income groups of people tended...
