In this whole part of the report the overall situation and medication of the bipolar I disorder have been discussed widely. The proper
descriptions of the disorder along with the most effective symptoms are being mentioned here. Judging the pathophysiology of this disorder the most essential treatment process is being discussed over here in this report. The report also consists of the process of the management of the multidisciplinary care team in case of getting the most expected treatment outcomes. Here the overall report is based on the proper medical consideration and all the scientific processes of the treatment and the process of medication are being discussed effectively.
Description of the disorder
Bipolar I disorder can also be termed as a manic depressive disorder (Fortgang, Hultman, van Erp & Cannon, 2016). It is highly heritable disordered. The unwanted shift of mood, abnormal activity is considered as a result of this bipolar I disorder. This mental health disorder is responsible for losing interest in any activity and day to day work. This brain disorder can modify the emotion of the patient. This bipolar I disorder is considered as one of the severe mental disorders. The mental disorder is being classified as a few episodes among them maniac and depressive are the most discussed phase of this disorder (Scott, Vaaler, Fasmer, Morken, & Krane-Gartiser, 2017). In distinct times the highly intensive emotional states are called the episode of mood. That one full episode indicates the severity of the disorder. The causes of this disorder are not properly known yet. The mental disorder affects the physical health of the patient as well. A general study in 2017 reported that around 792 million people are facing this bipolar disorder globally. The epidemiology tells that there is 1% lifetime prevalence can be seen for the bipolar 1 disorder. This bipolar 1 disorder is equally common in case of both male and female. Most of the cases 25-50% of the patients attempt suicide and the rate of mortality due to suicide is around 17% (Schaffer, et al., 2017). The risk of the disease is higher among the children of the patient of the bipolar disorder. If both of the parents are the patient of bipolar 1 disorder then it has been estimated that there is a 50%-70% risk over the children being a bipolar 1 disorder. The bipolar 1 disorder is not curable only the reduction of the symptoms through the medication is being observed. A lifetime process of the treatment can be seen in this case.
Signs and symptoms
The symptoms of bipolar 1 disorder appear differently in different people. Based on signs and symptoms of bipolar disorder, it can be divided into few parts that are mania, hypomania and depression. Bipolar 1 disorder shows numerous symptoms in various episodes. Various physical, cognitive and psychological changes can be seen in the case of the determination of the symptoms of the bipolar 1 disorder (Petzold, et al., 2017).
According to Timothy (2019), common signs and symptoms are:
1. Talking very fast in front of others that people can’t sustain most of the time.
2. Sleeping expansion becomes shorter, but the individual feels more energetic while working.
3. One of the most vital symptoms of this disorder is the act of violence without thinking about the results.
4. The probability of being impulsive can often be seen.
5. Lack of concentration due to the mental destruction in daily life.
6. Showing of overconfidence in behavior is also a sign of the disorder.
7. Frequent mood swings and depressed activity indicate the instability of the mental health of the patient.
8. The appearance of unwanted thoughts along with the dilution of self-control also being seen as symptoms of the bipolar I disorder.
