RAPP 5015 Database Management Lab #8 DESCRIPTION This data is modified but based on a real study by Fernbach, P. M., Light, N., Scott, S.E., Inbar, Y., & Rozin, P. (2019) investigating how perceptions towards and understanding of genetically modified organisms (GMOs) affect concern and opposition to it. Participants were rated out of 100 on their opposition and concern towards GMOs (GMO_opposition) and their perception of their own understanding of the science behind them (GMO_subjective). They were also tested on their actual genetics literacy and given a rating between -3 and +3. FILES: Download Lab_8_data.sav from Blackboard. LAB STEPS 1. How are the following variables related to each other?: (1) GMO_subjective, (2) GMO_opposition, (3) Genetics_Literacy and (4) Age. a. Use a correlation matrix with all four to answer this question (Analyze > Correlate > Bivariate...). b. For each significant relationship, create a scatter plot (aka Scatter/Dot) with fit line in the Chart Builder. c. Export your output to Excel and save it as Lab_8_1_YourName.xlsx. d. At the top of the Excel file, summarize the significant results. You should write your answers in this form:  "[Var1] and [Var2] have a [small/medium/large] [positive/negative] correlation of r=____. People with higher [Var1] tended to have [higher/ lower Var2]."  Note: Do not repeat the mirror image version of these (i.e. not both Var1 with Var2 and Var2 with Var1). 2. Is there a relationship between GMO_opposition and Genetics Literacy when controlling for Education? a. First, use partial correlation to answer this question (Analyze > Correlate > Partial...). b. Then, use linear regression (Analyze > Regression > Linear...) with GMO_opposition as the dependent variable, and Education and Genetics_Literacy as multiple independent variables. c. Export your output to Excel and save it as Lab_8_2_YourName.xlsx. d. At the top of the Excel file, insert a written answer to the question, using both the partial correlation and linear regression as evidence to justify your answer. (Keep it brief.) When you are finished, submit two files to Blackboard: • Lab_8_1_YourName.xlsx • Lab_8_2_YourName.xlsx

    Interpretation :- Partial Correlation
A partial Correlation was run to determine GMO_opp
osition and Genetics Literacy when controlling
for Education there was a moderate negative partial correlation which was statistically significant with r(498)= -0.359 , p=0.000
    Interpretation :- Linear Regression
There is a significant relation ship between GMO_opposition and Genetic Literacy and education where p= 0.000 which is less than p<0.05 ,...
