Project Summary
Construction on New Oakland’s Rail crossing project
has started from Mid-2018. The main purpose of this construction is to remove level crossing under busy Morphett Rd to minimize the 42000 motorists who face delay due to traffic every day. The project is designed by Public Transport Projects Alliance (PTP Alliance). The federal government is providing Aus $95 from the budget of Aus $174.3 million. State government is providing Aus $74.3 million, whereas Marion council is providing Aus $5 million (PTPA, 2019). This project is expected to provide 160 jobs during its major construction phase. The project is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2019. This project is going to help around 15,000 passengers daily basis who travel by using the Seaford line. This project is going to be an advantage for the daily commuters as interchange of train, bus will be smooth and also cyclist, pedestrian, and neighbours will be highly benefitted (Love, Ahiaga-Dagbui & Irani, 2016).

The railroad project that PTP Alliance has taken is being divided in four phases of construction. Before this step PTP Alliance from January 2018, started developing detailed design, preparing construction schedules and engaging local communities with more than 330 people who attended to give their suggestions. Following the phases of construction is mentioned below—

· Construct temporary and permanent car parks and remove old car parks
