The purpose of this individual property portfolio analysis is to further your understanding of the role of operations and control in accommodations management by applying hotel operation management concept to a real business case. It will also further your ability to identify a range of factors that influence operations in hotel and accommodation management. Introduction
In the following project the comparison will be done between two five star hotels and a detailed highlight of the features of the hotel’s will be discussed. The hotel properties are Ritz-Carlton, a Marriott Bonvoy group of hotels and Sofitel, an Accor group of hotels. Both the properties have a global presence and the services provided compete with each other. Both the hotels target the high net worth income group of peoples and as per their requirements, the services are provided. The need for this info graphical comparison is to judge the quality the hotel provide and the way the customer satisfaction is achieved so that the customers can receive a clear idea regarding the choice of hotel between the two properties.
Sofitel Hotels
Sofitel is one of the most popular names in the hotel industry. The hotel falls under the Accor group of hotels. Sofitel was originated from Paris, France in the year 1964 and later taken over by the Accor group of hotels in the year 1980. Sofitel as being a French origin hotel, therefore it provides the best quality cuisine with the beautifully designed hotel space, which enhances the aura of the property and these bring a great customer satisfaction. The hotel chain has its presence in over 41 countries with a total property numbered up to 89 by the year 2008. Every place the hotel is established there is a touch of the local tradition along with the touch of French culture, which together enhances the living experience of the customers (Accor, 2019).
The Ritz-Carlton Hotel
Ritz-Carlton group of hotels is also a five star property based in United States of America. The parent group of hotel is Marriott group of hotels, which is famous globally for their quality of services provided. The same kind of feel Ritz-Carlton also tries to provide and it has been successfully able to fulfil the customer satisfaction globally. The hotel has its presence in over 30 countries with around 101 properties serving the customers with their excellent services. The hotel was stared back in 1983 in Boston, Massachusetts. Moreover, since then it is providing their services globally (Ritz-Carlton, 2019).
