INTRODUCTION
In general terms when we discuss the requirement of capital in business, we only assess the same in terms of financial requirement that is mainly comprised of Debt and equity. But at a professional level for integrated reporting, from the standpoint of stakeholders, the capital of an organization can be divided in six major parts which are as follows:-
· Financial Capital
· Human Capital
· Social & Relational Capital
· Natural Capital
· Intellectual Capital
· Manufactured Capital
These six types of capital as identified by professionals helps them to add value in different ways and also creating a strategic focus in the company for the stakeholders and enhance the Corporate Governance and risk management (Vitolla, F., Raimo, N., Marrone, A., & Rubino, M. (2020)).
FINANCIAL CAPITAL
Financial capital is the most common form of capital and is the most widely used type as well. Financial capital includes majorly the Debt and equity part which brings funds to the company for making it enough for the organization to run its operations. The equity finance is the finance which is brought in by the promoters and gives ownership rights in the company. Debt finance is the amount borrowed from third parties on which a fixed amount of interest is paid for the time period it has been taken. Debt finance is more risky type of finance from an organization’s standpoint. Financial capital can be in the form of short term, medium term or long term finance. This is the most important type of capital as it is the means to all the other capital as required by the organization (De Villiers, C., & Sharma, U. (2017)). This is the most focused type of capital as it is also elaborated in the financial statement and all the other listing bodies.
HUMAN CAPITAL
Human capital also known as human resources are the second most common type of capital as separately identified by the organizations. Human capital comprises of the employees of the company who use their skills and knowledge to complete various task in the best possible way. Human capital is the biggest asset of the company which has been in near past has been given most importance which it deserves.
