LO3: to develop skills in personal time management for effective and efficient performance. 1. Complete Part A using secondary data and present your project plan in a report format using the specified instructions, below. Scenario Assume that you are a human resource officer who is tasked to chair a team that will complete ONE of the following projects in an organisation (private, public or charity) with more than 50 employees in New Zealand. Get the approval from your DBN508 course lecturer on your selected project in Weeks 2-4. Although the project selected by some groups may be the same, but each group will choose different existing companies in New Zealand for study. e.g., private, public or charity organisation. Executive Summary
Project management is the necessary aspect in which a human resource officer must achieve excellence along with the associated time and resource management. Here in this report, actions and plans to be performed and undertaken for performing a one-day community service to promote environment sustainability will be discussed. In order to perform the project ‘Holden New Zealand’, a car manufacturing company located in New Zealand has been chosen. Following report will focus towards the actions and the project management skills required organizing this project in the manufacturing department of company; along with the necessary resources such as budget and time management.
Introduction
General Motors New Zealand Limited, a subsidiary of ‘General Motors of Detroit’, currently known as, ‘Holden New Zealand’ since 1994 is one the famous and renowned car manufactures of New Zealand. Company has a history in the automotive industry for almost 100 years and deals with the manufacturing as well as supply of vehicles, engines, components and parts in New Zealand. The company runs with the vision of shaping future of cars with technology and making their customers proud while associated with them.
Major purpose behind choosing this company for the project was to make the manufacturing and assembly department familiar with the concept of environmental sustainability along with minimizing actions that can harm the environment. Further, being an automotive company there can be certain actions of process that can harm the environment and therefore the department must know the potential consequences, which will be the mission of this project.
