    This paper is intended to highlight the initiatives undertaken by Tech Mahindra to digitally transform their business and optimize their business processes with the help of advanced and latest technologies like Internet of Things (IoT). The paper shall describe the IoT building blocks and frameworks that have helped Tech Mahindra to digitally transform its traditional business model to more valuable business model based on IoT.
Industrial Background
    Tech Mahindra Limited is a multinational subsidiary of the Mahindra group with its origin in India. The organization was founded by Anand Mahindra in the year 1986 with its headquarters in Pune, India. The organization has been operating since then in the Information Technology (IT) industry providing IT services and IT consulting in various national and international markets at both vertical and horizontal levels. With its ability to incorporate new technologies into its business operations the organization has managed to grow in a US$ 4.9 billion company (Tech Mahindra, 2020).
The company has been providing IT services and IT consulting in over 90 countries with 946 active clients and more than 131, 522 employees who work dedicatedly to satisfy their clients with services based on advanced IT technologies like IoT. The top contenders competing with Tech Mahindra in IT service industry are Wipro, Tata Consultancy Services, Infosys, HCL and Mindtree. Despite of the tough market competition Tech Mahindra has managed to provide its corporate customers with world class IT services and Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) services across the globe.
Pre-Existing Business Model
    Tech Mahindra has always considered its relationships with its internal and external stakeholders as the key to its success in the national and international market (Economic Times, 2016). The business processes of Tech Mahindra are standardized across the globe and all the business models and contracts are based on these preset standards. The company offers innovative and customer centric IT experiences to its customers by maintaining strong relationships with its business partners based on standardized business processes. The business model of Tech Mahindra also considers the competitors in the market and the technologies and strategies they have been implementing for the sustainable growth and development of their business. The business model has been focusing on generation of revenue opportunities and on reduction of risks. The models have been focusing on enhanced customer experience and better efficiency of the business operations.
Underlying Technology of the Traditional Business Model
    Tech Mahindra a big name in the technology industry use to satisfy its client with traditional software services. The traditional business model of the company focused on a specific area regarding only the software, hardware and IT services. The organization in its initial years was the leading provider of integrated portfolio services for customers including telecom equipment manufacturing, telecom services and IT infrastructure services. Their initial models included business operations like business process outsourcing services as well as enterprise solution services. They made use of technologies like Computer Telephony Integration (CTI), Automatic Call Distributor (ACD) and Interactive Voice Response (IVR). These technologies in the era of digitization now sound quite obsolete.

    Their enterprise solution services provided IT service management, online shopping, payment processing, content management, computerized billing processes, data security, resource planning, human resource planning and many such services. These services were all based on development services and computer languages like ASP. NET (Tech Mahindra, 2020). Though these programming languages have been proving useful till date but several new technologies and languages are now ruling the market. The telecom services used traditional technologies like optical fibers, communication satellites, microwave transmissions and other electrical and electromagnetic technologies. All these technologies required extensive human resources to build network across the globe.
This ISO 9001 certified company focuses on streamlining its business processes across various locations across the globe. A client initially had to come in contact with the mangers of the relevant departments so that they can let the company know their choices and preferences. In order to track the progress of the project again the same procedure had to be followed. On completion of the project a team Tech Mahindra was appointed to visit the client location and make the project go live for the client.
