ERP at its essence is a set of software and various tools widely used for storing, retrieving, updating and communicating the information to different departments as well as generating insights from the acquired data. Knowledge and information management is the organised collection, storage and use of information for the benefits of an organisation. The real question is how can a big or even medium size company organise data in that can help determines the productivity and efficiency of the organisation? Storing different sorts of data in the spreadsheet or manually in the files is more time consuming and highly inefficient since none of them talk to each other regarding the storage of data. It can be also be referred as island of information that massively influences efficiency which is essentially connected to the proper utilisation of time and money. Therefore, it is the requirement of the business to leverage and utilise the power that an ERP system brings along with it. The ERP centralizes all the information in the organisation and by applying these leaders are able to streamline the flow of information. All your business processes become connected end-to-end and now other things become much easier. Management have a single view of the customer that can enable the sales team to offer better services to customers and provide in-depth analysis of which customers are more important than the rest (Laframboise, K. and Reyes, F., 2020). When leaders want to analyse their information, they can readily access the required data since it’s all in the same place. Moreover, there are options that can easily extract the report anyway one requires.
