B. (2016). Professionalism: Skills for Workplace Success. 4th Edition. Pearson. EXAMPLE: Ch. 2 Question:   What are some of your food preferences and patterns? Are these preferences due to your cultural group(s)? List 10 foods you have identified in terms of your cultural identity. Give examples, support and explain your answers. Answer:   Growing up by a single mother with two sisters, my mother always wanted us to eat “real food” in the house. Basically, meaning not junk food but home cooked meals. However, this was difficult to always create due to the one income household. My mom made meals with mostly “fillers” (beans, rice, potatoes). Which influenced my meals I created for myself as an adult. Because meat was more expensive, we got some portions of meat in our meals OR the meat was mixed in with something else (pasta, eggs, more potatoes). My family had the idea that you make one pot of something in bulk for everyone. (soups, pasta, tamales) and if you don't like it then you wouldn’t eat, because they were not in the business of customizing everyone a different plate. You get what you get. In my culture, we only were able to go out to eat if it was for a celebration of some sort. And that was considered a real treat because we each were able to order something different. Patterns that have stuck to me is fruit in the mornings and meat at night. Eating lighter for breakfast and heavy at night. So, we always had tons of different types of fruit in the house. More matter what the meal (beans, rice and meat), we always heat up a tortilla on the side. Every meal, “how many tortillas do you want.” One main thing that keeps coming to me is water. I don’t know this some would consider this food. But growing up with BIG water drinkers is a huge preference for me and always continues in my life becoming a pattern. Juice and Soda was only bought if we can guest coming for and that would only be for them to drink. If we went out to eat, we would only order water for our drinks. After every meal, we drink 2 cups of water to make sure we were all the way full.  Chicken over any red meat. We had a lot of chicken salad. I now always prefer chicken or seafood over another type of red meat.  Ch. 3 Question: Identify and explain 5 examples of events in your day that are influenced by your culture and/or religion. Give examples, support and explain your answers. Answer: 1. In my house, when you wake up, you say good morning to everyone. When you arrive home, you walk throughout the house and say hello to everyone. And when you are leaving, you make sure everyone knows and you say goodbye to everyone.  2. Before every meal, we pray. My family is all Christian so this was always important. If we forgot to pray we would tell on each other. “MOM!! Leilani didn’t pray!!” Praying is always a must.  3. If we brought food home or made food and someone come over, ALWAYS OFFER TO SHARE! It is rude to eat something in front of someone and not offer to share your food. Even if you don’t have enough. Offer.  4. No matter where you are; clear your place at the table. Even if the host tells you to leave your mess. Clear your plate and at least rinse it in the sink. Don’t leave dirty dishes at the table.  5. Warm milk at night. My family (grandma) said it is always good to go to sleep with something warm in your belly. In fact, she said it helped you sleep. Whether it be tea or warm milk, something warm. My sisters always warmed up milk before bed and I sometimes still do it here and there when I can’t sleep so it will make me warm and tired.     Reference(s):   McWilliams, M. (2015). Answer:
The relationship between Priyanka Chopra an
d Nick Jonas, perhaps the largest whirlwind romance of 2018 (and keep in mind that whirlwind romances were huge this year), started with a direct message on Twitter. There are a lot of hot Instagram comments, and wedding celebrations never seem to finish, their wedding has been an inspiration for the male youth who are struggling to even date a woman elder to them (Jones, Malone & Campbell, 2021). Priyanka Chopra let Nick Jonas into her Twitter DMs in 2016, but their relationship didn't start up until a year and a half later. He closed down the whole London store to choose the $200,000 Tiffany cushion-cut diamond ring with which he proposed in Crete. They had a grandiose three-day wedding party in December 2018 and then had...
