In this paper, we are discussing the planning as well as implementation process of Management Information System (MIS) in the healthcare organization. It is indicated which technique can be utilized to actualize and utilize data frameworks. For each situation, various points will be portrayed and analyzed (Davidaviciene, V. and Lipaj, 2013).
2. Introduction
An information system is considered as the integrated set of various components that can be used for collecting, storing as well as processing the data that can deliver useful results. In the modern era, many organizations depend on data frameworks that helps in managing all the business operations and also helps in interacting with customers as well as suppliers. This information system provides competitive advantages to the organization. The main reason for using information system in the organizations is to avoid from vulnerability and the obscure conditions that can develop a strong reason for qualitative decision making in the management (Shaqiri, 2014). In this paper, we will discuss about implementation of Management Information System (MIS) by using steps of SDLC in healthcare organization.
Investing in new innovations emerge various risk levels that can provide better performance and can have less possibility of successful advancement. The importance of data integrates various characteristics like accuracy, timelines as well as its usefulness. All these characteristics of MIS interface must meet the prerequisites of users who have little understanding, limited skills in innovation (Chulkov, 2017). The main objective of the report is to discuss about the risks and the opportunities while implementing MIS in healthcare organization.
3. Problem Statement
Customer – Sydney Hospital
Here, we are going to implement HIS in Sydney hospital. The main problem that the hospital is facing is lack of communication in various departments. The doctors remain unaware of the patient’s current health condition. At the end of the month, the management remains unaware the actual revenue generated. Also, there is lack of information about number of patients who have visited the hospital during a month and also, the medicines and consumables used by the nurses for the patients.
4. Hospital Information System (HIS)
The Hospital Information System ie HIS is a complete as well as integrated data framework that is intended to deal with the authoritative, financial and clinical parts of Sydney Hospital. The main objective of HIS is to accomplish the best patient care and organization by electronic information processing. For getting better data analysis, it is required to store correct data, reliable usage, easy to communicate into the system. The main reason for the Hospital Information System is to manage healthcare data, natural mystery and confined critical thinking to the degree of frameworks knowledge, system data.
HIS help in providing exact patient health information. The framework needs to keep information in secure place and also controls the authentication who can arrive at the information in specific conditions. These frameworks upgrade the capacity of medicinal services experts to facilitate care by giving a patient's wellbeing data and visit history at the spot and time that it is required. The system will help the professionals to visually update the lab test results. It can provide better internal as well as external communication. The system will help in providing all financial reports, monthly ledgers, inventory details and all the bill details of the particular patient. The system will mitigate all manmade errors whether its in patient’s medical information, tax error and also avoid any confliction between personnel (Mehdipour and Zerehkafi,, 2013).
