The Fig Technologies Executive Leadership Council (ELC) has received several requests for transfer to the United States from nations of diminished tolerance. The ELC has asked you to develop a presentation briefly explaining the history of diversity-based legislation. In your presentation, describe the challenges of legislating diversity, and compare historical legislation of diverse populations to more recent diversity legislation. Also, explain how diversity legislation impacts ethnic, orientation, and gender groups as well as those of age, appearance, and perceived disability.At least three resources. All sources should be cited and referenced properly using APA formatting. The presentation should consist of a title slide, a minimum of 10 slides of content, and a reference slide. Since this is a presentation, at least one slide should include a graphic or chart to present information.Please see attached the powerpoint presentation guide. Information needs to be typed in the notes section at the bottom of each slide with the references.


Introduce your presentation here. 1 Use the design tab to find a subtle background. Use a font color that is easily read against the background color. Use the new slide feature on the home tab to insert a new slide. Choose the type of slide that is needed. The most common slides are the Title Content and the Two Content. They will automatically include the heading and the section for the bullets. 2 Be sure to use a heading that explains what is contained on the slide. Use the same font sizes throughout the presentation. If you use 48 pt. font for this heading, use it for all of the headings. The same goes for the bullet points. 3 The details of the presentation will appear in the notes section. This is where the narrative of the live presentation would be if you were going to present this to an audience. Be sure to explain what is included on the slide. Place in-text citations in the notes if source information is used (Sample, 2016). 4 Most presentations should include graphics of some kind. These can include images, graphs, charts, or SmartArt. 5 SmartArt Images can be used to show different types of information. SmartArt can be found on the Insert tab. There are various styles of graphics that display information in different ways. 6 Include references on a separate slide. The font on this slide can be smaller to fit the references. Origin of Diversity
The first equal employment is dated back to 1943. It was introduced by Congress.
The first diversity initiative was signed by President Truman.
The President sign
ed the Executive Order 9981. The order was signed to desegregate the armed services.
This was the first diversity initiative in the workplace Mehra, B. (2018). The order spoke of equality of treatment in the armed services. Equal opportunity was also the key point of the Executive Order. The order did not forbid segregation. The Order was inclusive in nature. By 1935, approximately 95% of the coloured and African American Army soldiers were working and serving in the integrated units.
Diversity and Affirmative Action
Diversity is interchangeable with affirmative action.
As a result diversity is seen to undergo sufferings and has negative perceptions which the affirmative action have.
Both diversity and affirmative actions addresses the imbalances in the workplace.
There are few differences between the two concepts. The affirmative actions are known to impose involuntarily on an organisation. Diversity on the other hand is voluntary in nature. Under diversity legislative actions deliberate undertakings are aimed to provide specific and tangible business benefits. Affirmative action focuses on the hiring process. Hiring is one of the many business processes to which diversity is applied.
Challenges of Legislating Diversity
The challenges faced while legislating diversity are:
Communication issues- a diverse workforce make it difficult for easy communication. The communication between the different team members can be challenging.
For some English is not the common language which is used to communicate between employees. Language barriers implies that the team members are unable to efficiently communicate.
2.     Many opinions- when the employees are diverse every individual has a different way to look at the same problem Mehra, B. (2018). They resort to new and different ideas to reach a solution. It is beneficial to have diverse team members but at the same time too many opinions leads to indecision and failure to reach a common goal.
Challenges of Legislating Diversity
Hostility- humans are known to make decisions based on biases.
They fail to make decisions based on important facts and logic.
In a diverse workplace every employee decides on their working method on the basis of unconscious biases. This can lead to the development of distrust and doubt with the team members.
