Ans. The detailed procedure to accurately determine which wavelength/LED colour setting we will use on the Vernier GoDirectTM Colorimeter to measure the Absorbance of Fe (SCN)2+ is as follows:
step 1: Take a clean cuvette, fill it with water, this will act as blank or standard. Set a wavelength and measure its absorbance.
Step 2: Now without changing the wavelength, put sample of Fe (SCN)2+ is another clean cuvette measure the absorbance.
step 3. Now change the wavelength and measure absorbance of blank and sample again.
Step 4: Repeat this process for 5 different wavelengths
Step 5: Plot a graph between different wavelength and their respective absorbance using a table like this:
