The COVID 19 has forced the company to redesign a cost-effective network to meet the new online requirements. As a part of the design task force, you are required to come up with a network design proposal. Consider that the company has five departments as per the names Reception, Finance, Sales, IT and Research and Development (R and D). The company requires to have seamless communication with all the departments. You may assume that there are not more than 20 hosts in each department for IP addressing design requirements. Formative Assignment 1 The report should include the following contents: 1. Project Scope • The project scope and requirement should have an outline of the project. 2. Project Hardware and Software requirements • Name of the network device with the manufacturer's name, series, model, and ports • Number and type of devices to be used • Type of the media used, e.g., types of cables • Name of the server, PC with specifications such as operating system, RAM, hard disk etc. 3. Approach for the design • Discuss the approach you are taking to designing the network in clear terms. You may discuss IP addressing design requirements. You may use bullet points whenever necessary. • Note that network topology is optional, but you may include it for clarification purposes. [Hint: The use of Virtual Local Area Networks (VLANs) for different departments could be one of the preferences.
