MIS203_Assessment_4_Brief_Group Presentation & Peer Evaluation_Module Due 6.1 Page 1 of 6 Task Summary This is a group assessment, in which you need to prepare and deliver a 10-minute presentation. Your presentation should include a summary of a key concept that you learned in Microservices, Cloud Computing, or Web-Based Information Systems. Please note that you only need to select one area. Then, you need to provide analytical discussion on its pros and cons and the types of business needs that can be addressed using the aspect of the technology that you have chosen. This assessment includes peer evaluation as well, so please find the Peer Evaluation form in the resource of the Assessment 4 and complete it. Context In Modules 1-6, you have learned about a wide range of techniques, methods and best practices related to the application of three emerging technologies: microservices, cloud computing, and web- based Information Systems. In Assessment 2 you demonstrated your skill in understanding the concepts of these technologies and how to apply them to a simplified, real-world case study. Now that we are about to finish this subject, it is time to collectively articulate your mastery in one of these areas to stakeholders. This assessment allows you to demonstrate your skills in identifying, exploring, and analysing one of the key elements of the three technologies. You will also discuss your perspective ASSESSMENT 4 BRIEF Subject Code and Title MIS203 Micro-services Architecture Cloud and Web IS Assessment Assessment 2: Group Presentation & Peer Evaluation Individual/Group Group Length 10 minutes Learning Outcomes The Subject Learning Outcomes demonstrated by successful completion of the task below include: a) Identify and explore the key elements and applications of microservice, cloud computing, web-based information systems b) Analyse existing technologies and apply IS problem solving skills to address organisational needs c) Explain and communicate micro-services, Cloud Computing and Web-based Information Systems solutions to business stakeholders Submission Due by 11:55pm AEST Sunday end of Module 6.1 (Week 11) Weighting 35% Total Marks 100 marks MIS203_Assessment_4_Brief_Group Presentation & Peer Evaluation_Module Due 6.1 Page 2 of 6 on the type organization needs can be addressed using the concept that you choose for your presentation. Task Instructions In this assessment, you are required to form groups of two to four students and to present a topic regarding microservice architecture, cloud computing, or web-based Information Systems in class or via video (Online students). The topics from which you can choose are listed in Step 2 of the table below. Remember that you are preparing this presentation for business stakeholders, so your content must be developed and articulated clearly and with minimum technical language. Your purpose is to communicate your analytical perspective of a concept and highlight what sort of organisational problems can be addressed with it. Make sure to provide a real-world example of a company using the key element explored or a company that could benefit from the key element explored. There are a few main steps that you have to undertake to complete and submit this assessment as follows: Step 1 Form a group and register it:  You are allowed to form a group of 2 to 4 students. Please note that your group structure might be changed by your Learning Facilitator  You have to register your group with your Learning Facilitator via email before 11:45pm AEST/AEDT on the Friday of Module 5.1 (Week 9). There is no penalty if you miss the deadline, but you might lose the freedom to form a group on your own. The Learning Facilitator will assign you into a group.  Not everyone in the group will get the same mark. Marks will vary depending on the peer evaluation form submitted by each group member. Step 2 Pick a topic from the following list and confirm it with your learning facilitator:  Service modelling or cloud services  Service-oriented architecture  Web-based Information Systems  SaaS, PaaS, IaaS cloud services  Security in microservices or cloud services  Splitting the Monolith to Microservices  Deployment of microservices or cloud services  Testing in microservices or cloud services  Microservice or cloud providers You may also present any other topics related to microservice, cloud computing, or web- based information systems as long as your Learning Facilitator approves it. If you prefer your own topic, please make sure that the topic must not be too broad and general. Step 3 Prepare a presentation in with your group members. Your presentation should contain at least the following sections. • A tittle page includes students name, ID, and presentation title • Introduction MIS203_Assessment_4_Brief_Group Presentation & Peer Evaluation_Module Due 6.1 Page 3 of 6 • Body (this can be changed to specific names depending on the content: analysis, organisational needs, etc.) • Conclusion • References (please ensure to use APA standard) For instance, if you choose SaaS, PaaS, IaaS cloud services, you may provide some slides on the definition and application of these services. Then, you compare them in an analytical manner by highlighting their pros and cons. Finally, you discuss the type of organisational needs that they can address. Step 4 Complete the peer evaluation form. You can download the form from beneath this Assessment Brief in Blackboard. Please remember that each member should complete a form and email it confidentially to the Learning Facilitator. Your input about your team members will stay confidential, so please express your honest feedback and scores. Step 5 Submission of your slides (and recording of your presentation if online students) should be by ONLY one of the group members in the assignment submission link. Before submitting your assessment, you should check it against the assessment criteria and the marking rubric included in this brief to ensure that you have satisfactorily addressed all the criteria that will be used to mark your submission. Step 6 Presenting your slides in the class (On campus students). All presentations are scheduled to be delivered in Module 6.1 (and sometimes carrying to Module 6.2) during normal class hours. You are required to deliver your presentation for a maximum of 10 minutes. As a rule of thumb, your presentation should have 10 –15 slides. You are required to deliver your presentation for a maximum of 10 minutes. As a rule of thumb, your presentation should have 10 –15 slides. See Submission Instructions section for details on how to record and upload your video. Submission Instructions Remember that only ONE of the group members should upload ONE PowerPoint or PDF file using the assessment submission link. Online students: Your presentation must be recorded in a video format (e.g., mp4, MOV, etc.) and uploaded onto Blackboard.
