Organisations maintain a vision of customer satisfaction which is all linked towards the level of quality of either services or products that they offer. Customer focus, team work and continuous improvement are the main principles of total quality management which have to be ensured. However, team work is considered to be the most relevant as it contributes towards the development of the other principles of quality. The purpose of this paper is to provide an insight into three articles within the healthcare context covering the three identified principles. In addition, the paper also provides the existing relationship between the three principles of quality.

Customer focus is a principle of total quality management which requires an organisation to focus on understanding the vital needs and expectations of the customers (Foster, Wallin & Ogden, 2011).
