We live in most dynamic times of the century where there are multiple disruptions taking place every second in the market. Indeed, change is the only constant that businesses thrive today believes and only prospective to advance in future. Career is a series of employment related opportunities that provides roles and defines responsibilities as per the position. Management of career is an on-going process of learning that spans all across the life of an individual. It is more about defining short-term as well as long-term goals that can ascends the position and accelerate it to subsequent levels in the organization. Individual really need to invest time and effort on themselves to develop strategies such that one can achieve both short-term and long-term objective. By the virtue of this assignment, I got the opportunity to focus on project management and critically analyze personal traits as well as competencies that are crucial for project managers to possess in order to be most effective.
Project Managers are the professionals who are responsible in driving team of members such that they are able to deliver a project in given amount of time. They also act as an intermediary between the top management and team members at the ground in order to drive required changes to pivot the actions as and when required by the project.
In the golden words of Albert Einstein, "Once you stop learning, you start dying". There are important skills that are required to flourish in this profession. Combing the knowledge and behavior with desired skills, one can differentiate an effective Project Manager from a mediocre one. Knowledge about how to grasp the requirement from the customer, preparing a project charter, approving from the sponsors regarding the deadline and then motivating the team members to work together to deliver the required project to the business.
