As per the report of International Labor Organization (2019) indigenous people speak around 3,500 languages now. While analyzing the country Canada we can understand that they provide maximum support to the First Nations and Inuit communities for improving their standard of living and other related things. In this research paper we are analyzing the social and economic conditions of Shamattawa First Nation – Manitoba - (Indian Band Area).
1. Location and geographic characteristics
The Shamattawa First Nation is a small First Nations settlement in northern Manitoba, Canada, in the Shamattawa reserve. On the banks of the Gods River, where the Echoing River enters as a right tributary, is Shamattawa.. The Shamattawa 1 reserve, which covers 2316.90 acres, has been set aside for the band. The Nation has 1,626 registered members as of June 2021, with 1,428 of them living on their own reservation.

We can access to location only by air or winter road. The Shamattawa Public Water System is under one drinking water advisory in the neighbourhood. In December 2018, the advisory was established, and in December 2019, it became long-term (King et al 2021). Approximately 160 residences and 14 structures in the neighborhood are affected by the alert.
2. Demographic profile
As per the report of Statistics Canada (2016) Shamattawa First Nation – Manitoba - (Indian Band Area) currently has a population of 1,019 people. Over the last 15 years, from 2001 to 2016, the population of Shamattawa First Nation – Manitoba - (Indian Band Area), has grown at a rate of 0.91 percent per year. Its population increased by 21 individuals during the 2011 and 2016 censuses, with an average annual growth rate of 0.42 percent....
