In the earlier days quality was only considered as an important component for achieving competitive advan
tage over other competitors in the industry. But in the present world quality is considered as an important aspect in each and every organization because customers now-a-days focus on quality of the products and services. It has become important to deliver to the customers the products as per their requirements. Earlier customers used to purchase what was available in the market but now customer purchase as per their need and specialized products. Quality is a basic requirement which needs to be met by all the organizations to survive in the market and this can be achieved by producing zero defect products. For producing zero defect products and achieving standards of quality, various models of quality can be used by the organizations.
Different Quality models used by organizations:
Six Sigma
Six sigma can be defined as a technique which is used to improve the quality with an objective of eliminating the defects in every aspect which is related to satisfaction of customers and we can say that it focuses on achieving a zero defect target (Six Sigma and Quality Management, 2021). Six Sigma is 3.4 defects per million or it can be said that getting the things right or defect free 99.99966% of time. There are various six sigma levels discussed below:
