Race, Ethnicity and Media: Final Research Paper The final paper is to be a 5-7-page research paper. Rather than a “straight” textual analysis, the paper should, in part, consider 1) production practices; 2) historical and social differences; and 3) television structuralism. The texts should provide your evidentiary support. Some other points that you should at least consider addressing include: •Network vs. post-network;Cable vs. network •Genre •Imagination of audiences •Socio-cultural history •Casting You must develop a research question that is 1) clearly articulated in your thesis statement/paragraph; and 2) answered throughout the body of your paper. Because this is a research paper, you must consult (and cite) outside sources to lend credence to the assertions you make. All episodes are available via one of several avenues 1) Hulu, 2) Amazon/iTunes; or 3) Netflix. If you have issues finding episodes, please contact me immediately Requirements:1. Paper should be between 5-7 pages in length2. Paper must use only the approved television texts in each grouping3. You must write on the texts in the group for which you signed up4. Times New Roman, 12-point font with 1 inch margins all around5. At least five sources must be cited (at least two of which should be from outside the readings for class – Wikipedia is NOT a proper sourceThe paper is due on Wednesday, May 13 by 11:59 p.m. CST.
