American Internment Camps
I. General Statement
According to Richard Parker, 2018, a new tent city recently opened in Tornillo, outside
EI Paso with intention of holding children apprehended for getting an entrance in country illegally. Author gave his opinion regarding treatment of children in these camps compared to the ones set up during World War II.
A. Statement of the first main point: similarity and comparison between the Internment camps and wars taken prisoners by the author is done using some significant sources and interviews along with incorporating his own experience as he grew up on US-Mexico border himself thus learnt a lot about same.
1. Idea of development or support for the first main point : Tent city opened in Tornillo is mostly surrounded by fencing, Rio grenade and I-10 that means it does not allow held children to move anywhere out just like a jail.
a. Support material (ex: statistics, facts, events, examples): No reporters were allowed inside that held hundreds of minors for months. Similarly 900 adult immigrants are held in El Paso Country Jail.
