I believe that understanding cultural relativism and cultural universals can help us reduce ethnocentrism by helping us realize that our own culture is not superior to another. Instead of judging another culture for what they like to eat, for example, we should try to understand why do they eat it. It is not fair to think that our way is the only correct way to function. There are different cultures all over the world with people growing up in different conditions than us and they have had to adapt to their particular circunstances.
