For this Assignment, you will create a 4-6 page Developmental Report


For this Assignment, imagine yourself as a developmental psychologist assigned to research people at various


stages of development. You will observe and interview three people and write an essay style report. You must


include at least three peer-reviewed, scholarly articles from the SCTCC library databases and the textbook for a


total of at least 4 sources.


Writing Requirements and Guidelines


Your Assignment should include:


 Cover page


o Provide your name, title of assignment, school affiliation (APA style)


 Interviews/Observation


o Interview and/or observe three different people at three different stages of development. Base


your interview and observation on information from the text and other research.


o Describe the three stages of development you used in your observation/interviews of three


people: infancy & toddlerhood, early childhood, middle childhood, adolescence, early adulthood,


middle adulthood, and late adulthood


o Describe the behaviors you observed and the interview material.


o Discuss the developmental themes apparent for each participant using key terms and concepts


from the textbook and research.


 Theories


o Apply two psychological theories (see Chapter 1 in HDEV or other theories from the book) for


each observation/interview participant.


o Explain why the theories fit with each participant. Use specific examples from the


observation/interview.


 Analysis


o Analyze how the observations/interviews were consistent or not consistent with theory and


research. Why or why not?


o Compare and contrast the participants and their stages of development.


 Conclusion


o Summarize the important ideas you got from your observations/interviews, research, and writing


the report.


o Describe how you will use the information in the future as it relates to your personal and


professional life.

OBSERVATIONS OF DIFFERENT STAGES OF DEVELOPMENT
Introduction:
    Stages of development in Human lifetime have
different stages such as childhood, adolescence, Adulthood, late adulthood. All these combined together or individually have a large area to be focused on research. Understanding the psychology behind each stages is necessary to observe the patterns in changes of one behaviour and how they reach to different stimuli at different level (Rathus, 2019). The report will determine the analysis of the observations made on different stages of development including infancy, adolescence and late adulthood. It will include interviews and how they respond to the observation, also concepts and theories of psychological development.
Interviews/Observations:
The three development stages we are going to see in this report include infancy, adolescence and late adulthood. These three stages are very crucial in Human life, as they consists of the first stage the middle stage and the last stage where people show change drastically in their nature, behaviour, how they perceive things, how they want to do things, what motivates them and many more.
Infancy or Toddler:
    In this stage I studied and observed a child’s behaviour and response to certain conditional aspect. I observed that the infant is joyful irrespective of the materialistic things offered to him. They depend on their demand and needs such as hunger; affection and having parents close nearby. They are more attracted towards their parents and caretakers. Irrespective of their social, economic background it seems they are at peace and enjoy being just themselves.
    The themes relating to development are nature, nurture and growth. This tells a lot about the psychology of toddler as to how they are taken care of, and as they grow what kind of changes they perceive that allows them to start making decisions.
Adolescence:
    This stage is the most unpredictable of all. I interviewed some adolescence people and asked them a series of questions such as:
