1. Introduction
1.1 Business Intelligence (BI) and Data Mining
Companies have a massive influx of knowledge coming from their client base. Every previous purchase, interaction with social media and search engine query is a clue to what a customer can purchase next. Businesses must be able to make use of it. In addition to the need to store, this gross volume of data is where intelligence from industry shines. Business Intelligence (BI) is a collection of software and processes used to turn information into actionable information.
BI provides the scope to collect the data at the enterprise level, which defines the opportunities for the changes in the operations of the company as well as for global extension. Besides, data analytics can be integrated into market intelligence, which further enhances informed business decisions. Data mining is a data science branch that looks at large databases, mining for wisdom nuggets (Mirge, Verma & Gupta, 2017). In large repositories that can provide useful market intelligence, data mining reveals trends. Several methods of data mining, including grouping, clustering and association, exist. Broad databases are classified into individual groups by grouping.
1.2 BI versus Data Mining
In a few key aspects, business intelligence and data mining vary. In particular, in intent, volume and outcomes, business intelligence is designed to turn data into usable information for managers. Market analytics measures important success metrics and delivers results in a manner that facilitates data-driven decisions. Data mining, by comparison, is targeted at analysing data and discovering solutions to real market challenges. Data mining has computational intelligence and algorithms to find patterns that are processed by business intelligence and introduced to management.
In the same way, for analysing datasets based on a single department, customer group, or rivals, data mining is more optimal. Data mining can reveal hidden answers to particular business questions by analysing these smaller datasets. Business intelligence processes dimensional or relational databases, unlike the specificity of data mining, to deduce how an enterprise performs on the entirety. The outcomes of data mining are particular databases, as data mining is more geared towards bringing data into an accessible format and solving unique business problems.
In comparison, in maps, tables, dashboards and reports, business intelligence outcomes are portrayed. It is essential to show BI outcomes to affect data-driven decisions. Lastly, in their emphasis, data mining and market intelligence vary. Studying patterns through data mining helps businesses create new business intelligence KPIs (Karanjikar & Kedar, 2017). Therefore, business intelligence is focused on showing progress towards KPIs defined by data mining.
Over time, broad indicators such as total sales, total customer service tickets and ARR paint a holistic view of the success of the organisation and give stakeholders the courage to make critical decisions. In this research, we will understand how BI and data mining works together. We will focus on the role data mining does to influence BI. Lastly, we will realise some business ideas with the help of data aggregation.
2. Literature Review
Machine algorithm learning and cluster study of the most prevalent data mining methods is explored in this literature review. Machine learning algorithms may realise various functions such as grouping, estimation and association. The conventional forms of data mining and sentiment analysis could outperform these feature systems and cluster analysis. In this review, we have gone through the process of data mining. It understands the concept of a data mining system and the way; it affects the business outcome on various platforms.
There have also been discussions on how cloud computing plays a role in collecting data for a successful business proposal. The review also discussed the challenges that we see in the data mining process and how it can be eliminated. It has also discussed the implementation of data mining in business plans (Bartschat, Reischl...
