    The rationale for selecting this topic is to discuss about issues of workplace discrimination in Starbucks. Issue of racism prevalent in Starbucks, It highly point out that number of Black people have been harassed just for their colour and not allowed to use restrooms whereas white people can use them without buying anything. In 2018, there was case of racism reported in Starbucks. 800 coffee shops of Starbucks in US closed because of the complaint of racial biasness in training (The Guardian, 2018).
Besides, older employee complaint issues as if Starbucks treats them like disposable and replacing older managers with new ones. Employee complaint about that they get less pay and more work and Starbucks considering profit over its employee, treating them like replaceable bees. This issue create problem of inefficiency in Starbucks and it is usually overworked, understaffed and underpaid. This creates opportunity for competitors such as Barista and Café Coffee day (The Guardian, 2018).
People belong to community like immigrants, transgender and black face unfavourable environment in Starbucks (The Guardian, 2018). This spoils the brand image of Starbucks and reduces its market share, Moreover this unequal treatment and immorality make customer switch to other coffee shops even if they like Starbucks most. Hence, this research paper would shed light upon important ways in which workplace discrimination could be stop or eliminated. These recommended ways can serve as useful suggestions to Starbucks.
